As we enter the room I make a quick scan of it. It's no different than yesterday except that there are chairs today. I watch as people take their seats around the circular table. We have the betrayers to my right, Killen directly next to me, Grey next to him, Nova next to Grey, Orin next to her, Trebor then Keri. After Keri is Olivia the bratty princess I don't completely understand, then the next five seats are people I don't know, and finally next to me on my left is Amanda the lost.

Because it's practically written all over her face that she has no idea what is going on.

Keri stands up to talk. "Today as you all know we are going to continue our meeting from yesterday after it was," She pauses, finding a polite word. It doesn't matter what word she uses as everybody already knows and all eyes are yet again on me. "dismissed," She puts emphasis on the word and this time her black eyes are the ones on me. I shrug and her look hardens. "but I believe we should continue where we left off." She adds, finishing her statement.

Where we left off was trying to sentence an innocent kid to death. I want to mutter it, but I know better. Everybody in this room is listening, everybody. Instead, I decide to raise my hand and bother everybody.

Trebor raises his brow at me, "Yes, Symon?"

I stand up pat down my blouse and my pants before addressing the rest of the room. "Where is all of your common sense?" There seems to be some misunderstanding as the whole room looks taken aback.

"Symon," Keri's voice has an undertone, it's a warning. But I don't care, a plan is forming in my head and I need to follow along with it. I need to become a different character and show them this different character. "what are you saying?"

"I am saying you have all lost your minds," I say, looking around the room. "why is that of all people you choose to lead a rebellion you choose an eighteen-year-old with issues?" Keri opens her mouth to speak but I don't let her. "Now, supposedly this is some of the smartest adults in all the kingdoms. It doesn't look like it, especially when they want a person like me on the throne."

"It's what the prophecy said Symon!" Orin stands up abruptly, "Now quit this nonsense and sit back down." He orders.

"I'd rather not," I huff. "because what I'm saying isn't nonsense," I am grasping at straws here. Trying to make them see reason. "a teenager like myself is not in any state of mind to have so much power, especially one like myself who has too many issues. I'm unstable, I am at that point in life where I don't think things through. Wouldn't it be better to put a stable person in charge?"

Nobody answers me. "An eighty-year-old would be better for charm's sake!"

The image of Nita on the throne with her obsession with sharp objects makes me want to smile. I'm sure she would be a good leader, Nita can read people. She's confident, she makes her own decisions, she isn't like me. She doesn't rely on other people to make them for her.

Maybe that was my weakness. Killen was right, I was, I am a mindless soldier. I think that's why this is happening. I let them groom me into this. I dug my own grave and now I have to work my way through the pits of hell to climb back out.

And when they still, when they still don't answer me I scream. "You guys aren't thinking!"

Now Trebor is standing up, Trebor who read me stories, Trebor who listened to me, Trebor who was by my side when I had nightmares about my past, Trebor who let me cry in his shoulder the night after my first kill, Trebor who never raised his voice at me, Trebor who never reprimanded me before is now standing up. "Symon!" He yells and I flinch. I flinch because I've never heard Trebor yell, much less at me. His voice loud and booming and it leaves my ears ringing. "Sit back down this instant!"
