IT'S BEEN A COUPLE OF DAYS.

Bella's been nonstop with her constant efforts to get me to talk to her. It's not that I'm mad at her, or upset really. I just need the time alone to think about everything she told me. It was a lot to process in one day. It was a lot to process in general.

I left Florida not knowing that there were real monsters living in this world. I stopped believing in monsters when I was 9 years old. 9 years later, I'm back to where I started. This time, though, I couldn't cower behind my mom and dad for protection, since they are as ignorant as I was. They didn't, and won't ever, know that there is something scarier than the average bear living out in the world. Makes you start to wonder what other fairytales are true.

"Julie?" Bella knocked on the door. I didn't answer, leading her to knock again. "Jules, please, I really need you to come with me to Jake's." She tried this idea on me yesterday, and she came back upset, saying that she and Jacob had a fight and he was acting different. I admit it made me curious as to how different you could get after having mono, but Bella said he didn't even act like the same person.

"Please, Jules. I really need you by my side."

I sighed before getting up from my bed and opening the door to look at Bella. She had about as big of bags under her eyes as I did. I haven't been able to sleep well, thinking that Laurent was going to find us and finish what he started. I got chills just thinking about his sinister smirk.

"I'm sorry about everything, Jules, you know that. Please, just come with me," Bella pleaded one last time.

I felt bad for leaving Bella alone for the past couple of days, I know the whole Laurent-thing was messing with her dreams too, but she's had experience with this information. I'm just getting into it.

"Alright, fine." I finally agreed, walking out of my room and closing the door behind me. She gave me as much of a smile that she could muster before following me outside and towards the truck.

"I think I found out why Jacob has been acting different," Bella muttered after a long moment of quietness between us. I gave her a side glance, letting her know that I was listening. "Remember how I told you that Jacob was the one to tell me about what... he was?"
