"YOU'RE NOT COMING, JULES."
I stood my ground as I watched Jacob pace the length of the kitchen. It's been an on going argument whether or not I'm going to the meeting with the Cullen's later on tonight. I was positive that I was going to be able to get much sleep if I were to stay at Jacob's house alone, regardless if I knew that the meeting was harmless. The endless nightmares that I've been getting can only be calmed with Jacob's presence. With Jacob out of the equation, I would be up until he returned anyways; so, I might as well anyways.
"Bella's going," I pointed out, which made Jacob narrow his brows at me. "You're really gonna tell me no even with Bella's vampire allowing her to go?" I knew it was wrong of me to make it into a competition-- the boys didn't need my help in that field-- but it was the only way I knew how to make Jacob agree on me going with him.
He sighed before leaning on the counter, looking at me softly. "Can't you just stay home and sleep?" he pleaded one last time.
I shook my head. "You know I barely sleep without you there anymore," I muttered quietly.
Jacob sighed before walking around the kitchen counter to stand in front of me. He gently placed his hand on my face, easily cupping my cheek with his large, warm hand. His thumb gently rubbed the underneath of my eyes, where we both knew bags laid underneath the light makeup I put on this morning. Since I haven't seen Jacob for a whole week prior to tonight, the nightmares have been attacking my usual dreamless nights. I've been reduced to drinking tea at three o'clock in the morning; some nights having an actual decent conversation with Edward before trying to get back to sleep. I wouldn't say that Edward and I were anywhere near friends, but we had the same understanding we did when Carlisle fixed my hand. I still didn't trust the Cullen's nature.
"Alright," Jacob finally sighed. "You can come." I smiled up at him. "But we're sleeping in tomorrow."
I chuckled lightly. "Seemed like two positives to me." He grinned at my laughter before gently leaning down and kissing my forehead. I sighed into his warmth, leaning forward more and breathing in his intoxicating scent. "I've missed you," I whispered quietly, leaning my forehead onto his chest, the top of my head just reaching the top of his sternum.
