My lips raised in a small grin as Dad held me close to his chest in a tight hug.
Jacob and I had stopped in La Push at his house before he allowed me to drive his Rabbit to mine; knowing that Billy wasn't going to keep it a secret for long that we returned. With a promise to see me later on, we went our separate ways. Him, going to meet up with the rest of his pack and me, going home.
"I'm so glad that you're back," he sighed as he finally let me go, before plopping back down onto the couch. "Alice wouldn't stop bugging me about your return. I can only handle so much wedding details, kiddo."
I snickered at the thought of Alice pestering Dad about the wedding. Short, pixie-like Alice knew exactly how to get her way every time.
"I'm glad to be back, dad." I patted his shoulder lightly. "I'm gonna run to my room and put away my clothes."
"Yeah, yeah," he grumbled under his breath, waving me off jokingly.
I rolled my eyes before turning around and walking down the familiar hallway. I pushed open my door and stepped inside the untouched bedroom. I took my bottom lip in between my teeth as I looked around the clean space.
I had missed Forks in our little get away. Forks would always be home to me. It was nice to go on vacations and get away from all the drama every once and while, but my heart belonged here, with Jacob by my side.
The front door opened loudly, making me jump in my place at the sudden noise. I heard dad curse from his spot in the living room as I opened my bedroom door.
"Where is she? I heard she's back." A feminine voice asked from the front door. I peaked around the corner to see Bella standing with her arms crossed in front of her chest; holding pure white pumps in her left hand.
"Jesus, Bella," Dad sighed, holding his hand over his chest. "You almost gave your old man a heart attack."
"Can't do that when he's the one that's walking you down the aisle," I joked, leaning against the staircase.
