TWO WEEKS.

Two weeks was how long my grounding lasted for. The only reason that I was getting grounded was because I had lied to him about Bella's safety. I got off easy-- Bella was still being grounded, but I had a feeling that she would be able to weasel her way out of it soon enough.

In the end, Dad went pretty easy on the both of our groundings. We both had to come straight home from school, but Edward and Jacob were aloud over until dinner. If we got 'good behavior' points, he would let us go out until 5. Since Edward was always around, that meant that Jacob couldn't come by and hand out-- so I was counting on those good behavior points.

I felt a smile tighten on my lips as the last bell of the school day went off. I quickly grabbed my belongings before racing towards the parking lot. Since Bella's been picking up rides from Edward whenever she could, I would end up driving the truck back and forth. Today was one of those days, but I wasn't planning on going home.

I didn't tell Jacob when my grounding was over, I wanted it to be a surprise when I showed up at his house today. I loved being at home, but with Edward around all the time-- even at night, Bella informed me-- my nerves were shot by the time I went to sleep. It wasn't Edward himself that made me nervous. It was the fact that if I even got the slightest paper cut, he could suddenly take a bite out of my neck.

"I told you before, Julianne, you smell too much like wet dog to be appetizing." I looked over my shoulder to see Edward and Bella walking towards me. I slowed down my walk so they could catch up before we continued our way towards our vehicles.

"I'm not always going to lean back on that," I muttered, to which he nodded his head in understanding. It might be enough to turn away a vegetarian vampire, but not a starving rogue. "Anyways, Bella, make sure that Dad knows I'll be back after dinner tonight."

She furrowed her brows in confusion, "we're supposed to be back at 5."

"Yeah, but yesterday was my last day of being grounded," I clarified.
