"YOU'RE BOTH GROUNDED," Dad nodded his head, looking down at us. "For forever."

"What--" Bella gasped as I groaned, "Dad--"

"No buts," he snapped, making Bella and I shut up. "Maybe you'll get off early for good behavior." He gave Bella and I a sarcastic smile.

"Dad," Bella pouted her lips. "I just got Edward back, please I'm begging you to reconsider your rules about him not being able to come over."

He was silent. His face set into a poker-face, not giving us a clue on what he was thinking.

It was a while before he spoke up again. "I'll think about the conditions while I'm at work--" Bella gave him a big smile, but he held up his hand. "That doesn't mean that he's allowed over here all the time. Just at certain times."

"Okay," she nodded her head in agreement.

"That goes for you too, Jules." I looked over at him in surprise.

"What? But you like Jacob!" Bella glared over at me at my words, but I paid her no mind.

"Can't be giving any special treatment just because I like Jacob," he gave both of us a cheeky smile. I rolled my eyes at his logic. "I'll give you both rules when I get home from work. I expect to see you both here when I get back. No running off with any boys." He gave us both a serious glare before picking up his gun from the coffee table. "I'll be back for dinner at 5."

"Be safe," Bella and I echoed as we watched him walk out the door. Relaxing as we heard his cruiser pull away from the house.

"So, Jacob?" Bella asked, catching onto the name.

I had told Dad the second day Jacob and I started dating, and he was happy to say the least. "At least one of my girls has good taste in guys," he had said. It seemed to boost Jacob's ego when he heard what Dad had said about him. Happy that he was more liked than Edward was-- who was in the dog house with Dad.

"Uh-- yeah," I nodded, feeling a slight blush pop onto my face. "We kinda started dating while you were away."

She nodded her head, before giving me a small smile. "It's about time. Just-- be careful, alright?" I could tell that she was thinking about Emily's scars.
