THE WHOLE WORLD TURNED QUIET. Snow had settled down during our slumber, and it didn't leave any stone untouched with it's white coating. The sun was covered behind the constant forecast of clouds; at least it wasn't snowing anymore.
I slipped the hood to Jacob's sweatshirt over my head as the tent's zipper unraveled. I glanced behind me to see Bella slipping through the opening, also tightening up her own jacket around her body.
"Hey, Seth," she greeted the sandy wolf quietly. I glanced down at my watch that I had on my wrist to see that it was just reaching seven o'clock in the morning. I've been up with Seth for an hour, waiting for Jacob to return from his patrol around the campsite. "Where's Jacob? Did he already..."
I shook my head. "Not yet. He went to check to see if the woods were clear before he goes."
Bella nodded.
Seth huffed once before trotting out of the field as Edward walked out of the woods; they both nodded their heads at each other in greeting.
"Hey." Bella smiled lightly. "I'm sorry about last night. It couldn't have been easy on you, or Jacob." I almost cracked a smile at remembering how annoyed Jacob was waking up this morning to Edward staring at him. Edward's lips twitched at my thought.
"It definitely won't make my list of top ten favorite evenings," he replied lightly.
"You have a list?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. Even though it shouldn't surprise me; he was a vampire, he had all eternity, he had to entertain himself somehow.
Edward nodded his head. "All ten I've spent with Bella. Number one is when she said she'd marry me," he paused to smile down at Bella. "Mrs. Cullen."
"So, you are engaged?" I asked at the same time as Jacob came out of the woods and exclaimed, "you're marrying him?" I glanced behind me to see Jacob paused at the treeline. His brows were narrowed along with his eyes, glaring towards Edward next to me.
Bella's mouth fell open in shock before turning towards Edward. "You knew he was listening?"
Without any remorse, Edward replied, "they deserve to know."
