"Okay what the frick is going on between you and Kayden?" All three girls stared at me, awaiting for my answer.
"I don't know really but I think we were just about to kiss." I said, feeling confused myself.
"What the-" Luckily, the whistle for the game was blown.
"Come in Tigers!!"
"Tigers! Tigers! Tigers!"
"Fuck you Pythons!" This game was so tense you could literally cut it with a knife. For the first quarter, we were losing but in the second quarter we were matching. In was now the third quarter and things have been getting a little rough. Warren and Kayden squabbled many of times and some of the players were just damn right dirty. It's now the third quarter and Becca and Lucy went to get some food whilst me and Hannah stayed.
"Han, can I tell you something." I asked, avoiding eye contact as I stared out to space.
"Of course, anything." I had gained her full attention.
"If someone did something really bad to you, which caused you to have many problems that you will suffer for a long time, workday you forgive them?" I questioned, trying to be as vague as possible.
"No, definitely not."
"And could you forgive someone, who is extremely close to you, if they supported the person who ruined your life?"
"Amy are you -"
"But they didn't mean to hurt you but they really hurt you and you can't even look at them because you feel sick and you think 'well what's the point of you being called my mom when you don't fucking act like one'." I ran out of breath and I could feel my chest rising. I then realised that I let slip that I'm talking about my mom.
"Has this thing got something to do with your mom?" She asked softly. I nodded my head.
"Do you want to have a sleepover round mine tonight? Like a girly treat just us two kind of sleepover?"
"I would love that." I smiled, genuinely happy that I have her in my life.
"Yay! Now let's cheer our boys on!" She squealed. The last quarter was about to start and Lucy and Becca have finally come back.
"What took you so long?" I questioned.
"Sorry, Lucy saw this cute guy she liked."
"Ooh how did it go?" Hannah butted in.
"He was gay." Becca burst out laughing whilst Lucy sighed. I looked to the field to find a hot sweaty Kayden staring at me. The weird child he is, he starting waving like a crazy man at me. I laughed and put my hands up in a shape of a heart and showed it to him. The girls next to me oooohed and Kyle was patting Kaydens back. He blew me a kiss and then went into his position. There were now 5 minutes left of the match and we were 2 points behind. Everytime we would almost score, Warren would always stop us. I have to admit, he does have pretty good skills. I mainly watched Kayden as I could see him starting to stress out and get annoyed. There were many times where I could see he wanted to beat the shit out of Warren but luckily Kyle held him back. It was now down to the last few minutes, if that, and Kayden had the ball. He was running so fast but Warren was hot on his heals. Kayden was close to the line but Warren was almost level.
"COME ON KAYDEN!! YOU CAN DO THIS!" I screamed as loud as I could. Kayden looked at me and we locked eyes for a second. I mouthed go and Kayden tore his eyes away from me and looked at the line. He ran faster, leaving Warren behind. Another player from the Pythons tried to knock him down but Kayden dodged him. The timer had 10 seconds left and the whole crowd was silent - until Kayden scored the touchdown, winning us the game in a matter of seconds. The whole crowed screamed, shouted, whistled and jumped for the Tigers. All the cheerleaders ran onto the field and obviously I ran up to Kayden. He grabbed my waist and spun me around.
"You did it! You fucking did it!" I said, smiling so hard that my face hurt.
"It was only because I heard your voice." He said, staring right into my eyes. Right at that moment it felt like everyone went quite; like it was just me and him in the world. He leant down and finally our lips met. They were in sync together and it just felt perfect. It wasn't forced or uncomfortable, it was soft and passionate. I started to get out of breath but I didn't dare pull away. My hands tugged on the ends of his hair as his hands roamed round my back and settled tightly on my waist. We finally pulled away and stared breathlessly at each other. This was the moment I realised that everyone around us just saw what happened. Everyone started clapping and whistling in our direction, Kayden getting nods from the other players. I dont think I've ever wanted the earth to swallow me up so badly. Kayden put his fingers under my chin and softly pulled my face towards him.
"You don't know how badly I've wanted to do that." He smiled as he took my hand in his.
"I can't believe everyone just saw that." I shook my head and joined everyone else."So shall we go to your house first to get your clothes and then go to mine?" Hannah asked as we were in the changing room putting our clothes away.
"Yeah if that's alright." I said sheepishly.
"Of course! You're my best friend Amy! I'll do anything for you!" Phew.
"But," Oh no. "Can you tell me what you were referring to in the steps." She pleaded.
"I don't know Han."
"Please, you can trust me." I sighed.
"Ok." Her face lit up as those words came out of my mouth. We hung our clothes up and locked the room.
"I'm just gonna go give the keys to Coach and I'll be right back." I nodded and started walking towards the car park."Hey, um Kaydens looking for you." Kyle said looking around.
"Where is he?"
"I think he's on the field." I thanked him and then walked towards the field. I spotted his dirty blonde hair and sweaty body sitting in one of the seats where the crowd would normally sit.
"Hey." I said, sitting in the seat next to him.
"Hey." He smiled and turned to me. I didn't know what to say so we just sat in silence for a bit.
"Do you want me to take you home?" He asked.
"Oh um Hannah's taking me home." I didn't know why I was kinda scared to tell him.
"What? Why? Tell her I can take you home."
"I'm sleeping round hers so she's taking me home to get my stuff." He sat up straight, giving me his full attention.
"Why are you sleeping round hers?"
"Because we want to have a um, well I thought we could, um you know-"
"Tell me the truth, Amy. What happened?" He questioned.
"It's stupid." His features softened at my embarrassment and pulled me onto his lap. Not gonna lie, it was the hottest thing.
"I don't care if it's stupid, just tell me." He said whilst putting my hair behind my ear.
"I had an argument with my mom."
"What happened?"
"Well," I sighed, knowing he's not gonna let it go, "something happened to me when I was younger which involved my dad and me and my mom just got in a heated row about it."
"What happened with your dad?" He asked, fully involved in this conversation.
"Kayden please just drop it." I said, getting up from his lap. He got up to but before I could walk away, he grabbed my waist and pulled me in to him.
"I just want you to be safe. I care about you Amy."
"I know you do, and I'll tell you what happened another time I promise." I smiled. He started leaning in and I did the same, but before our lips met, we were stopped by Hannah.
"There you are! Come on let's go!!" She stated, and then walked off. I laughed and kissed Kaydens lips softly.
"I'm sorry about her." I whispered.
"It's ok, I just wanna spend more time with you." He said, kissing my nose.
"We could go out tomorrow?" I suggested.
"Yeah, ide like that." He smiled. He took my hand and then we walked to the lot together.
"I'll see you tomorrow!" I said, letting go of his hand and getting in the car.
"See you tomorrow." He saluted and I laughed. I looked at Hannah and she had her eyebrows raised.
"What?" I questioned.
"You have a lot to tell me." She said, causing me to roll my eyes. This is gonna be a long night.
