"Are you ready?" Hannah asked, her breath quickening.
"For the 100th time, we're ready." Lucy rolled her eyes as she fixed her bow on her head.
"Okay okay, I'm sorry." Hannah turned to me. "You feeling alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine. I just felt sick in the morning." Hannah pursed her lips tighter as she fixed my bow, then walking to the rest of the group.
"So, we've practised this. You all know your partners. Let's go kick some ass!" We all ran up to our partners, the crowd whitening down as we all started to stand in place. Even though cheerleading brings back a lot of memories, I'm glad I came back. It's good for me to re start things, you know, without him."Hey, do you want a sleepover? Like, just us two." Hannah suggested. "You can like phone Yana, and I have stuff at home you can use." As I thought about it, I realised that it was actually a good idea, and it'll give Yana some time on her own.
"Yeah, I'd like that. Let me just phone Yana." Hannah nodded her head as I pulled my phone out, walking to a quieter place. This was until someone stopped me.
"You did well out there." Dylan said, leaning against the wall.
"Oh, thanks." I smiled.
"Um, I heard that you were about to call Yana, I've got work with her in like 20 minutes, I can tell her what you want to say." He offered.
"Uh, yeah, thank you. Just tell her that I'm sleeping around Hannah's today." Dylan nodded his head as he walked up to me. He placed his hand behind my head, letting me fall against his chest.
"You look tired." He whispered.
"I am." He kissed the top of my forehead.
"Go have fun, I'll tell Yana." I pulled away and as Dylan was about to walk away, I grabbed his hand, attaching my lips to his. He reacted instantly, his hands moving up to my cheeks as one went behind my hair. In some sort of way, it felt like this was right, and that I was meant to kiss Dylan now.
"Hey, Amy are you r-" Hannah's voice made me suddenly pull away from Dylan, my eyes meeting her shocked expression.
"Yeah I'm ready." I awkwardly turned around to Dylan.
"Don't forget to tell Yana. I'll see you after." I walked after Hannah, Dylan shouting bye as I saluted him.The walk to Hannah's house was quiet awkward, but when we got into her house, her mom was very inviting, as always. Hannah found some snacks, and were now in her bedroom.
"You okay?" I asked Hannah, her gaze stuck on the floor.
"I need to ask you something." She said, biting her lip.
"Go on then." I said, looking at her.
"Are you pregnant?" I widened my eyes as my mouth widened.
"Excuse me?"
"It's just a thought. You feel really sick, but only in the morning. You're always tired. And when you're happy, you're really happy, and when you're sad, you're really sad, and when you're angry-"
"Okay, I get where you're heading. But I'm not pregnant." She flicked her eyes to her bag and then back to me before climbing off the bed. She walked to her bag and then pulled a box out, making me sigh out.
"Are you fucking kidding me Hannah?" I huffed, knowing exactly what she's holding in her hands.
"Please, Amy. Just to put my mind at rest." She begged, pushing the box to me.
"Is that why you wanted me to sleepover? Not because you just wanted to be with your best friend, but you wanted to embarrass her? Gee, thanks, you're a great best friend." I grabbed the box from her as I squinted my eyes, making my way to the bathroom.
"Thank you." Hannah whispered, moving back onto the bed.I'm now in the bathroom, and I'm waiting for the little sign on the stupid stick to show. Of course I've though about me being pregnant, but I never wanted to admit it I guess. As the slow seconds passed, I got changed, unlocking the door and walking back into the bedroom. I finally looked at the stick as I breathed out, looking at Hannah. She chewed on her lip as she anxiously looked up at me.
"I'm not pregnant." I let out, chucking the stick into the bin. Hannah quickly stood up and hugged me.
"Phew, I'm so glad. I was just making sure. Now we can actually enjoy the night!" She laughed, dragging me onto the bed.Right now, the house is really quiet. Probably because it's roughly 2am in the morning, which makes sense. For some reason, I just can't get to sleep. So many things are running through my head. When I think about it, for an 18 year old, I've had so much shit that I've had to deal with. Before New York, everything was simple; apart from my parents marriage I guess. But since New York, I've become a completely different person, and I think I want to get away from that.
The next chapter is...the last chapter!
