"I'm so nervous." Your husband whispered, stabilising himself on the kitchen counter. His voice was hushed, scared that Cassie would somehow hear him from the floor above.
"Why?" You asked innocently, putting the food into the oven as you spoke, "it's just a boy"
Scott let out a dramatic scoff, pressing his eyes closed for a moment before opening them wide as wide as he could. "'Just a boy' you say?!" He gasped, "Cassie's first official boyfriend is 'just a bOy?!!!!'"
"Honey I'm kidding!" You laughed, loving the shocked reaction plastered on his face, "of course it's a big deal... she's your only daughter." You did a close lipped smile at him, taking a few steps closer.
He rolled is eyes, meeting you half way. You leaned in then, placing a soft kiss on his lips.
"Love you." You murmured.
"Love you t— SHAUN IS HERE."
Scott looked down at himself, flattened his shirt and began to walk towards the door. Cassie, however, came hurrying down the stairs, turning towards her father before he could get there.
"I'll get the door. You and Mum can wait in the kitchen." She smiled, pushing him away. As Scott came back into the kitchen, defeated, you heard as Cassie clicked the door open and let out a longwinded 'hello!'. It made your heart swell at how excited she was.
Let's just hope Shaun Willows is as much as a good teenager as Cassie makes him about to be.
