Third Person POV
Bas' eyes grew wide open when he saw Godt walking into his room. Bas was now suddenly fully awake. He tried to sit up but the pounding headache was too much. He fell back into his pillows once more.
Bas was so scared and guilty that he did not notice that Godt had a small glass of water in his hand and a couple of pills in the other.
Godt held out both of his hands to Bas, saying, "Here, take these pain pills. Let's hope they work quickly to take away your headache."
Bas obediently took them, but found himself unable to meet Godt's eyes.
In the meantime downstairs, Bas' mom heard the gate buzzing and she went to open it.
At the gate was the same guy who had brought Bas home last night.
"Good morning, ma'am," said Joss, "My name is Joss. I'm a friend of Bas. I brought Bas a bowl of hot bean sprouts soup to help nurse his hangover."
"Thank you," said Bas' mom, feeling nervous because Godt was upstairs in Bas' room. She could not let this young man inside in case Godt had a negative reaction to his presence.
Bas' mom noticed that Joss was waiting to be let in. She had to make a quick excuse.
"Bas fell asleep again after he woke up earlier. I had given him some pain pills that caused him to feel drowsy. If it's fine with you, I will take the soup that you brought and will warm it again when he wakes up," said Bas' mom.
"Okay, that's a good idea," said Joss, handing the bag that contained the bowl of soup.
Before Joss turned away he said to Bas' mom, "Please don't forget to tell him that it came from me, his friend Joss. I made the soup myself. I had told him earlier that it's very effective in fighting hangovers."
"Sure I will, thanks," said Bas' mom.
Joss wanted to add, "Please tell Bas that I made it with lots of love and tender loving care" but he decided to hold his tongue.
Bas' mom had just shut the gate close when she saw Godt walking out the front door.
"I'm leaving now, mom," he said, "Bas is still in too much pain and too groggy to be able to converse properly with me. I gave him the pain pills before I left and told him to rest some more."
"Thank you, Godt," said Bas' mom, "Bas is lucky to have such a caring boyfriend like you."
Godt looked towards the gate when he heard a car driving away, and then he glanced at the bag that Bas' mom was holding.
"Who was that who drove away just now?" asked Godt, "was he the same one who delivered this bag? What's inside this bag?"
"Umm..." Bas' mom started to panic.
Before she could say a word, she saw Godt running to open the gate and step out of it.
Godt wasn't able to see who the driver was but he took note of the car's license plate.
Godt noticed that Bas' mom looked like she was about to cry.
He went to hug her. "Don't worry, mom, I won't ask any questions and I won't interrogate Bas for now. But only for now."
When Godt let go of Bas' mom from his hug, Bas' mom took hold of his arm.
"Godt," she said, almost in a pleading voice, "please try to understand if there are times when Bas spends time with other friends. He is always thinking of you and loves you very much but because you cannot always be together, he gets lonely and hangs out with the others."
"I understand, mom," said Godt sadly, "I just hope that he doesn't give in to temptation."
Godt quickly turned away because his eyes were starting to fill with tears. He stepped out of the gate with a heavy heart.
