Joss' POV

Before Bas could change his mind, I grabbed my car key and rushed out the door. I knew that I was going over the speed limit and was risking getting flagged down by a traffic officer but I just had to get to Bas' house at the shortest time possible.

The moment I reached his gate, I rang him up.

Again he took the call on the first ring.

"Bas, I'm waiting outside your gate."

"Gimme a minute, I'll be there," he said.

I waited anxiously for him to come out of his gate. I tried to play my favorite songs while waiting for him but my mind could not focus enough to enjoy the music.

Finally after the second song, he appeared outside the gate He was wearing a light pink shirt with a white collar and a small insignia on the pocket. He was wearing a pair of white pants. When he flashed his smile at me, I went weak in the knees.

I got out of the car to give him a buddy hug.

"Bas!"

Both Bas and I looked in the direction of the sound.

Godt, the actor who played the role of Phana in Two Moons had just gotten out of his car and was walking towards us. His face didn't look happy at all. In fact, he was wearing a frown.

I turned to look at Bas who had turned pale, his smile that was so brilliant earlier had disappeared.

"P'Godt," his voice was almost a whisper.

P'Godt did not look at me but asked, "Bas, are you not going to introduce me to your boyfriend?"

His voice had taken on a freezing cold tone.

"P'Godt, this is P'Joss," said Bas, his voice quivering a little. "P'Joss, this is P'Godt."

"I am not his boyfriend," I told Godt as I held out my hand to him. "I am just here to treat him to lunch."

Godt ignored my outstretched hand. He looked at Bas intently who was looking down on the ground looking very nervous and uncomfortable.

"Actually I had come to invite you to lunch at my apartment, Bas," he said, "but if he had invited you first then better luck to me next time."

With those words, he turned around and started walking back to his car.

Suddenly, Bas, who seemed frozen on the spot earlier, sprang into action. He ran quickly after Godt, grabbing him by the wrist.

"P'Godt!" he cried, "you didn't tell me earlier that you were planning to come and invite me out to lunch so I accepted P'Joss' invitation! But if your invitation still stands, I would like to accept it."

Bas turned to me with an apologetic look when he ended his sentence.

My breathing started to become labored and uneven because of the pain and disappointment that Bas had just dealt me.

Even if he had not acknowledged that Godt was his boyfriend, obviously Godt was a special person in his life. It did not take him a split second to decide who he was going to spend the afternoon and evening with.

I groped for my car door because my tears were blurring my vision.

I was about to start the engine when there was a pounding on my window.

I turned to see Bas looking agitated and upset.

I lowered my window.

"P'Joss!" he cried, "I'm so sorry, but if your invitation still stands, I would like to reconsider it."

"What happened with Godt's offer to treat you to lunch?" I asked, still hurting from his earlier rejection.

"He said he changed his mind," Bas said.

I saw the tears starting to fall from his beautiful face. I could not find it in me to turn him away.

"Get inside the car," I said, unlocking the passenger door.

From my rear view mirror, I saw Godt driving away, his car making a deafening screech.
