Godt's POV

I could tell by the way Bas' mom was pleading with me to be understanding towards Bas and by the way that Bas was behaving so guiltily that there was something going on. Also, why would that guy, whoever he was, why would he make the effort of coming to Bas' house the following day just to bring him a bowl of soup for his hangover? Something was wrong somewhere.

The reason I took note of the guy's license plate number was because I had a friend who worked with the department of motor vehicles who could trace that number for me.

The moment I went home, I called my friend and gave the license plate number for him to trace. He asked me to give him about an hour before he could call me back with the information.

I was enjoying the Chinese food that I had paid to be delivered to my apartment when I received the phone call from my friend. He gave me the name of the owner of that vehicle with the license plate number.

Joss. Joss Wayar.

My chest tightened so much that I could hardly breathe. I lost all interest in the food that I had just started to eat.

Of course I knew this guy. Who would not know this guy? He was one of the top in demand models in Thailand. And that was because he was more handsome than the devil. It was like he was born to model. He was always being given modeling sessions left and right.

Suddenly I felt the need to leave my apartment. To go out somewhere. To do something reckless. To drive my car recklessly on the freeway. To drive my car off a cliff. To jump off a bridge.

I grabbed my car key and was half way out the door when my phone rang.

It was my sister.

"P'Godt! Mom wants you to come to the house right now. But before you come she wants you to stop by the pharmacy to pick up her asthma inhaler. She already informed the pharmacy that it would be you who will be picking it up."

"Okay," I said. I had to set aside all my emotional problems for now. My mom's condition came first. She suffered from asthma from time to time but it happened more frequently during the cold winters and also whenever she missed me, whenever she wanted to see me badly.

Joss' POV

After I got back to my apartment after dropping off the bowl of hot soybean sprouts soup at Bas' house, I thought I would make myself some shrimp and vegetable chop suey for lunch.

I unwrapped the pack of shrimp that I had left to thaw overnight and placed them in a bowl and marinated them in salt and pepper. Then I took out assorted vegetables from the vegetable crisper section of my fridge.

While I was chopping the onions, I started to recall how Bas' mom looked so reluctant to let me in through the gate. She seemed to have a panicked look, like something wrong was going on but she did not want me to know or to be a part of it.

Could it be that Bas was having a visitor at that moment and she did not want that visitor to know about me? Was it possible that Bas had a girlfriend or a boyfriend after all? It was a very common thing for celebrities to deny having any relationships.

Well, I thought to myself, for as long as Bas tells me that he is not in any relationship, I am going to trust him and to believe in whatever he says. I have loved him for so long from a distance. If I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to win his love, I was going to go for it.

I had just finished setting my table and getting ready to enjoy my lunch when my phone sounded with a notification of an incoming text.

P'Joss! Thank you so much for the bowl of soybean sprouts soup! My head is so much clearer now!

Instead of texting back, I decided to call him.

He picked up the phone on the first ring.

"Hi, Bas, I got your text. How are you feeling?' I asked.

"So much better," he replied, "your soup worked wonders on me."

There was a pause at the other end.

"Do you have any modeling work lined up for this evening?" Bas asked.

My heart started to pound against my chest.

"Can I pick you up right now?" I asked, "I just finished cooking some shrimp chop suey. I would like to show off my cooking skills to you. You can spend the rest of the evening with me. Does that answer your question?"

"So your answer to my question is that, I am the modeling work that has been lined up for you this evening," he said.

That sounded very, very naughty and very, very brave, coming from my little innocent Bas.
