Bas' POV

He tried to look away before I glanced in his direction but I caught him staring at me. I caught him several times until finally he found the courage to approach me.

When he reached me, he held out his hand saying, "Hi, I believe we have not been introduced to each other by our managers. My name is Joss. Joss Wayar."

I took his hand and shook it. "And I'm Bas. Bas Suradet. Would you like me to introduce you to my other friends over there?" (I was referring to P'Kim, P'Tae, P'Cop and P'Tee).

"No, that's fine," said Joss, "I would rather chat with you only until it's time for us to go on the runway."

"Are you the only model that's representing your agency?" I asked.

"No," he replied, "the others are over there chatting, but I can introduce you to them later. Right now, I just would like to get to know you more."

"Oh, okay," I said, and did not know what else to say.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" he asked, and then after a pause, "or a boyfriend?"

I laughed. I could not tell him that P'Godt was my boyfriend because we were supposed to keep it a strict secret between us.

"I have no time to have a girlfriend or a boyfriend," I replied, "I have a very hectic work schedule."

"You should find time," he said, smiling, "it can get really lonely when you need someone to be at your side when your spirits are low."

I didn't know what to say to that so I just smiled.

"Would you like to hang out with me one of these days?" he asked.

Whoa, this guy was a fast worker.

He must have noticed my hesitation.

"You can ask your friends to tag along if you wish," he offered.

"I will check my schedule if I can find the time," I said, trying to sound regretful.

"Can I give you my number so that you can call or text me when you find the time?" he asked.

This guy was not just a fast worker. He was a Speedy Gonzalez.

"Okay," I said after a moment's hesitation.

I opened my phone with my passcode and tapped on the number keyboard and handed him my phone so that he could ring his number from my phone. That way he was able to have my number registered on his phone as well.

After we exchanged numbers, I wondered if I had done the right thing. I felt a belated anxiety that hanging out with Joss might cause a rift between me and P'Godt.

"Oh, there you are Bas," said P'Tee as he approached me and Joss. P'Tee looked curiously at Joss.

"P'Tee, this is my new friend Joss," I said by way of introducing Joss to P'Tee.

Joss smiled at P'Tee and extended his hand to him. P'Tee shook hands with Joss with a careless air and then turned to me, "I believe it's time for us to get ready to walk down the runway. Let's go." He did not bother to say bye to Joss.

I turned to Joss with an apologetic smile.

"It's okay," Joss mouthed the words to me and waved to me with a smile.

I belatedly realized that I should have been addressing him as P'Joss because I was sure that he was older than me.

Actually it was P'Joss and his group who had to walk down the runway first. I could not help admiring his graceful fluid moves. It looked like he had been modeling since forever.

He caught me staring at him. I looked quickly away feeling some warmth creeping up my cheeks.

He smiled and made a gesture that meant "Call me."
