**MERLIN'S POV**
We had been at the park for around three hours, I had brought us here before the sun had rose. If we had came in the day people might find it weird if they saw a man crying at an old Queen's grave.
Before we left I had given Arthur one of my red polo tops, blue jeans and black trainers. I left him to figure out the shower for himself, which I instantly regretted after seeing he had taken the shower head off it's hold and managed to soak the whole bathroom.
We left an hour before dawn and sat quietly at the resting place of our beloved Gwen. It was more of a statue than a grave and it was marked as a memorial for the 'powerful queen who united the five kingdoms' that what she was known as now. I had often come to her statue in the night and talked to her as if she were there to talk back, Arthur's 'grave' too. He was still referred to as the once and future king, he had books written about him, fairytales that all the kids knew, I was known as the old sorcerer, with a long beard, it almost perfectly matched the description to my dragoon character I often had to disguise as to keep my powers secret.
As the sun rose and people started to enter the park where Gwen had her dedication placed we had to leave so not to look suspicious. Arthur dried his eyes and placed down the bouquet of flowers we had bought from a nearby shop.
As we left the park through the front gate onto the Main Street, Arthur was still drying his red, teary eyes. He walked straight onto the road without checking, that's when I realised I hadn't properly introduced him to cars.
"ARTHUR!" I yell as a car swiftly turns a corner.
I run in front of him and push him out of the way to the other side of the road. The car hits me with a force and knocks me to the floor with a loud thud,
"Shit!" I say breathlessly as I lay in front of the black car that just ran into me. The man jumps out and runs to my side as I see Arthur standing, wide-eyed with his chest pumping rapidly.
"Holy Crap man, I am so sorry. Your mate was there and then you were. Fuck! Damn it!" I roll onto my back with a loud groan.
"You're okay, I am okay, I swear." I saying almost trying to direct it at Arthur but my voice is too weak.
" bloody hell man!!" The man says.
People had surrounded the pavements and were watching anxiously, waiting to see if an ambulance was needed, I rose to my feet with help from the man and smiled a reassuring smile at the crowd, making sure they knew I was okay.
"Can I do anything for you mate?" The guy was persistent to help even though I assured him everything was fine hundreds of times.
After about half an hour of talking to concerned people and paramedics that had been called by people in the crowd, everyone seemed convinced I was fine and left me to be on my way, Arthur was still at the side of the road, looking to my falling place in horror.
"It's okay Arthur," I say touching a hand to his shoulder, "I am okay, I promise you."
I started walking back to my house.
"Why? Why the hell did you do that? As far as I can understand that may have killed you!" He sounds angry.
"I am okay Arthur, you don't have to worry." Arthur hesitates
"That was really stupid Merlin..." he says under his breath
"Are you kidding!" I say annoyed, "I just saved your damn life...AGAIN... and you're calling me stupid. Way to be a full on PRAT Arthur!" The fury was all over my face and his.
"I just don't see why you did it. I don't want you risking your life," he says prodding my chest hard with his finger making me whimper as he touches a bruised rib one of the paramedics pointed out, "for mine, I can't...I won't let you do that. I don't why you do!"
"Because Arthur..." I say, my eyes starting to curl with anger, "medieval times or not, it's my job to protect you whether that be from a raging 'mythical' beast or a high speed vehicle, I am not going to fucking lose you again!" With that he steps forward and forcefully places his lips on mine, I jump with surprise but quickly fall into his chest, kissing him with just as much passion.
