fem!reader x inui seishu
seishu watched you dance with your eyes closed, body moving to the music to no avail. his movements slowed down once he'd lost himself in the clouds of his own mind. all of a sudden, he couldn't pull his gaze from you, actively falling in love. the two of you had been partying for at least two hours already, having been invited by kokonoi.
you opened your eyes to find him staring at you, prompting you to stop dancing so vigorously and pause to face him.
"what?" you breathed, attempting to catch your breath.
"you just look..." he trailed off, unaware of how mesmerized he really looked, "you look really nice."
a giddy smile tugged at the corner of your lips as you extended a hand for him to take, "dance with me."
inupi had been your best friend for as long as you could remember. even in your earliest memories, you vividly remember seishu being there. for eleven years, you'd fought alongside him, supported him, you two had been through thick and thin together. there was nothing that deemed capable of tearing your friendship apart.
but there was something about tonight that felt different. things were different between you two-- you felt closer to him.
the two of you danced the night away, without another word needing to be uttered. you were almost certain that you could physically feel yourself falling head over heels for the blonde boy. it was as if everything you'd ever been through had built up to this moment; from the first time you shared popsicles at the age of seven to the petty fights you'd have over him getting hurt in a fight. the past felt all the more sacred as you began to wonder if seishu was your soulmate.
after the party had ended, you found yourself walking down a vacant street with him beneath a dim glow that came from the moonlight. a chorus of laughter and heartfelt conversation echoed throughout the atmosphere, your shoulders frequently brushing up against one another because of how close you insisted on walking together.
"you're not as bad at dancing as i thought you'd be," you remarked, tilting your head at him teasingly.
"was that an insult or a compliment?"
"i don't know, i haven't decided yet," you shrugged, a chuckle erupting from deep in his chest. you laughed along with him-- seishu's laugh was often contagious when it came to you.
"there's that smile again," he doted, looking down at you admirably.
"what about it?"
"a pretty face like yours goes hand in hand with a pretty smile, don't you think?" he implied, acting as if he didn't just compliment you.
"seishu, did you just call me pretty?" you asked in a teasing accusatory tone, meeting his beautiful green eyes with yours.
"so what if i did?" he spoke cockily, generating an even bigger smile on your face.
"you're such a dork," you elbowed him in the arm playfully, not knowing how to react. he'd acknowledged your beauty in the past, but it was usually in a rather subtle and indirect way.
"actually, i used to be a total dork, as you already know," he pointed out, referring to before he'd joined the black dragon gang he was in.
"no..." you sarcastically gasped, playing along with his joke.
"yep. definitely not the kind of guy you'd be into, so consider yourself lucky," he explained with a slightly embarrassed expression.
"well, you don't know that," you insinuated with your eyebrows raised, "maybe i'd still be into you if you were a dork."
inupi froze at your words, his feet planting themselves still into the ground when he turned to look at you.
"still?" he urged, glancing at your lips as your cheeks turned red, "is there something you aren't telling me?"
his face was inches apart from yours and you could feel his breath fanning your nose hotly.
of course, i'm in love with you, you hopelessly thought to yourself, wanting to say it out loud. but the words got caught in the back of your throat-- the close proximity of his body sent you into some sort of shock and all you wanted to do was kiss him. for a split second, you wondered if this was even a good idea; seishu was your best friend and you didn't want to ruin the most successful and healthy friendship you had. but a bigger part of you believed that even if it didn't work out, you'd always find a way around it to keep him in your life.
you only hoped he felt the same way when you closed your eyes and risked it all.
your lips met halfway, as he'd also leaned in to kiss you. one of his hands reached the nape of your neck and the other caressed your cheek in a gentle hold. seishu's mouth is dry and soft, and he tastes like comfort. like home. you had your doubts about crossing this line, but it felt so right that those doubts had immediately vanished.
from the way he kissed you, you could tell that this wasn't going to be the last time. and your friendship was never going to be the same.
