fem!reader x mitsuya takashi
you sat on a cushion next to mitsuya. your brother was sitting across from the both of you with his arms crossed and an emotionless face. he hadn't moved or spoken for five whole minutes, having been silently staring between the two of you the entire time, the coffee table acting as a spacious barrier.
you nervously picked at the tips of your nails, awaiting to be ruthlessly scolded by your older brother. but he continued to remain completely tranquil.
"before you say anything--" mikey cut you off with a raise of his index finger. at this point, mitsuya was growing anxious himself, a miniscule bead of sweat rolling down his forehead.
"mikey, you know i wouldn't--" mikey cut him off with the same action of his index finger, causing mitsuya to droop his head and stare down at his lap.
"this is ridiculous," you dryly stated, rolling your eyes at your brother's dramatic attitude. you couldn't tell what he was thinking and it was beginning to piss you off.
"aneki, i'd like to have a word with mitsuya, please," he finally spoke up, keeping his unreadable gaze on mitsuya.
you hesitated impatiently, but eventually obliged anyway, "fine."
you exited the room, closing the sliding door behind you, but prevailed and kept your ear pressed against said door. you prayed to god that mikey wouldn't hurt mitsuya. you knew he wasn't the type of person to beat up one of his close friends; toman was everything to him and he cared about mitsuya a lot. but you just couldn't help but let that tiny part of you worry about it.
mikey was more than capable of being unpredictable, which is why you were afraid, but you were hoping he took into consideration how you begged on your hands and knees for him not to kill mitsuya when he caught the two of you making out in your room. you and mitsuya had been dating in secret for two weeks now, and it'd been coming along smoothly-- until mikey stuck his nose between the wall and your door.
you couldn't hear the two of them say anything for a moment before mikey finally spoke again.
"that's my baby sister, mitsuya," you heard his muffled voice through the thin door, "you understand that, right?"
mitsuya answered with more silence, and you presumed he was nodding cautiously.
"do you love her?" he followed up, still unexpressive. at his question, your heart skipped a beat, wondering what mitsuya's answer would be. you hadn't said i love you to him yet, but it was clear that you did. you just didn't want to rush into anything before going public with your relationship.
"yes," he answered, not sounding disinclined at all. his response made your stomach flutter immediately.
"very well," mikey tutted, not following up.
"that's it...? you're not mad?" mitsuya suspected, sounding unsure of mikey's underwhelming reaction.
"why would i be mad?"
"because... well, we're talking about y/n," he pointed out logically, hesitating to say the next sentence, "the last guy who tried to talk to her hasn't left the hospital in months..."
"that guy was a jerk, mitsuya, jeez," mikey scoffed, "you're my best friend. i trust you."
"thanks, mikey," you could almost feel the smile on mitsuya's face. their conversation made you happy and relieved.
"hurt her and i'll kill you," mikey whispered a final threat before you felt it was okay to barge back in and throw your arms around your older brother in regard and admiration.
"thank you, onii-san."
