CHAPTER 13

"Oh my goodness, Zy!" sabi ni mama nang lumabas ako sa kwarto. Nakabihis na ako. Nakamake up na din. Di ko masyadong kinapalan ang make up ko.

"Bakit ma? Pangit pa? Kakapalan ko pa ba ang make up ko?" tanong ko.

"No, Zymith. Makapal naman din ang mukha mo."

"Mama naman!" sabi ko sabay pout.

"Sige na at malelate na tayo" sabi niya. "You look stunning! Para kang ikakasal. Oh my g!" pahabol niya. Umiling nalang ako at sumakay na kami sa sasakyan at pumunta sa Hotel.

Maraming tao. Maingay ang paligid dahil kakakanta lang namin ng happy birthday kay Dianne. Sa totoo lang, ayaw ko ng ganito. Umupo ako sa upuan tsaka huminga ng malalim.

"Zymith!" sigaw ni mama. Tumingin ako sa pinaggalingan ng boses. There stood a man, I think nasa late 50's na. Tumayo ako at lumapit sa kanila.

"Zymith, I want you to meet Mr. Adam Gamboa, Adamson's father" sabi ni papa. My hear beats fast. Shit. "G-good evening sir" I said.

"Don't get too nervous, Zymith. It is not right to be nervous infront of your father in law" sabi niya. Waaaaaaaa! "And, sir is so formal. Please call me tito" pahabol niya.

"Sorry po, tito" I said. I look at his back pero wala si Adam.

"Oh, how silly. This is my wife, your soon to be mama, Jaizel. And this is Adamson's brother, Jason" sabi ni tito.
Bigla akong natawa.

"Anong nakakatawa anak?" tanong ni papa.

"Tito Adam, kaya po ba Adamson ang name niya kasi son siya ni Adam? Tsaka Jason ang name niya kasi son siya ni Jaizel?" tanong ko sabay tawa. Tumawa rin naman sila.

"Smart girl. Yes, ganun na nga." sagot ni tita.

"Ah, nasan po ba si Adamson?" tanong ko.

"Adamson's somewhere. Looking for you, I think. Why don't you check your phone?" tanong ni tito.

"Ho? Bakit naman po?" tanong ko. I checked my phone and there is one message from him.

From: Adamson
Where are you? I'm at the garden.

"Uh, I think I should go, ma, pa. Tito, tita" paalam ko at tumakbo patungo sa garden. What the fudge is he doing here? Lumabas ako at nakita ang napakagandang view. May isang greenhouse na puno nang christmas lights. Loko yun?! May gagamit siguro nang place na to tapos andito siya.

Pumasok ako doon at nakita ang red carpet patungo sa little stage doon. And there sit my knight in shining combat boots, wearing a black tuxedo.

"I found a love for me

And follow my lead"

Oh shit. Na estatwa ako sa ginawa niya. He's wholeheartedly singing.

"Well I found a girl beautiful and sweet
I never knew you were the someone waiting for me"

Tumingin siya sa mata ko. He moved his face, signal na he wants me to come closer.

"Cause we were just kids when we fell in love
Not knowing what it was

I walk slowly towards him. Shit, bakit wala ako sa sarili ko?

Nasa gitna na ako nang aisle ng mahagip ko sa aking paningin ang pamilya ko at pamilya ni Adam. What's happening? Lumapit siya sa akin at hinawakan ang kamay ko.

"Baby I'm dancing in the dark
With you between my arms"

He put my hand on his shoulder and the other against his.

"Barefoot on the grass,
Listening to our favorite song.
When you said you looked a mess
I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it"

He stared at my eyes, and ginawa ko rin yun. God knows how fast my heartbeat is.

"Darling you look perfect tonight" he said and kissed my forehead. I close my eyes. God, ano to? I can't process any single detail.

"God knows how special you are to me, Zymith. The first time I laid my eyes on you, I knew I found my home. Let me court you, darling" sabi niya. Oh shit, Zymith. Don't cry. Please.

"Sagutin mo na yan, Zymith!" sigaw ni mama.

"Nakapunta na siya sa bahay ate! Nakilala na rin namin ni mama at papa! Sagutin mo na!" sigaw ni Dianne.

"Alam mong mahirap i gain ang trust ko. Is it okay if you'll court me muna? Kasi parang ang aga pa eh" sabi ko sabay tawa.

"I would love to court you forever, darling" sabi niya at nagsmile. He kissed my forehead. "No more cussing" pahabol niya.

"Putangina mo" sabi ko.

"I love you" sagot niya.

"Gago!" sabi ko sabay tawa.

"Last bad word, and I'll kiss you" sabi niya. I cover my mouth. Tumawa siya tsaka humarap sa family ko. "Thank you sa tulong ma, pa. Sa inyo rin tito and tita." sabi niya.

"You're welcome anak. Prove to her that you are the one!" sabi ng papa niya.

"I've met you less than a month pa yet I really felt it, Zymith. You are my home" sabi niya. You, too, Adamson. You are also my home. And tonight, I just got home.
