Avery's P.O.V

I'd never really had a place to call home. I was never happy as a child, always moving between households, living with different family members. I fell out with pretty much all of them. The only person I hadn't fallen out with was my father, this was due to the fact I'd never met him.

I was packing up the last of my things. I was finally leaving. I'd be able to live under my own roof, with my own rules. I was finally 18 and ready to explore London as a free, single, woman. I ran down the staircase of my grandparents home, the smell of damp filling my lungs for what was hopefully, the last time. I placed the final box by the front door before dragging my feet into the lounge to say my good bye's.

"Erm, I guess I'll be going then" I breathed, barely audible.

They didn't even move, their eyes glued to the screen in front of them.

"I'm leaving now" I said slightly louder.

Still no reaction.

"I'm going!" I snapped.

Still no movement, however I had earned a quick response.

"Whatever, just leave the keys on the side" my Nana whined.

They didn't care, no one did. I threw the house keys into the kitchen, grabbed my final box, and slammed the door behind me. I raced to my car, placing the box in the boot. I sat in the drivers seat and exhaled a breath I didn't realise I was holding.

This was it. My escape. My chance to start again, I could be whoever I wanted to be. I want to be someone.

Author's note

I really don't know what this is. These first few chapters will be fillers (sorry), but I'll try to make them interesting.
