"Why can't I just go with you? I know what your family is capable of and I don't care. I just want to be with you and-" Kara rambles.

"You coming with me is out of the question." Lena scolds. "Your family is the reason why my parents were killed. I don't blame you for any of that, I actually believe they quite deserved it but Lex does. If he ever found out I was in love with a Danvers, he'd have a hit man out for you within seconds."

"Lena you aren't like the rest of them. You don't have to do this."

"Kara I don't have a choice. If I don't go back, he'll have people come looking for me and I'd rather go willingly than have him kidnap me. Plus with me there I'm able to help those girls..." Lena sighs. "This is my reality okay? I've learned to accept it but I'm sure as hell not going to drag you into it. It ends here Kara."

She zips up her suitcases and stares outside at the amazing Eiffel Tower. She's going to miss this. The way Kara held her hand as the walked around the streets, how incredibly excited and fast Kara would eat her crème brûlée's, and being able to wake up next to her, not worrying about what happens next. With tears slipping out of her eyes, she sniffles them back up and turns around, finally gathering the courage to face Kara. Those bright blue puppy eyes were always her weakness and seeing her this upset tugs at the strings of Lena's heart. She walks over to the woman and plants a long kiss on her lips.

"Go to National City, kick ass at that new job, and forget all about me."

"Lee-" Kara mumbles.

"Goodbye Kara."

Lena quickly walks out of the hotel room and dashes over to the elevator, unable to look back. If she did, she knew she wouldn't have the courage to walk away from the best thing in her life.

Kara closes the door of their hotel room and sobs hysterically as she slides down the door and falls to the floor. She should've know better. How could she have fallen for the one girl she couldn't have?

Her family has been trying to take down the Luthors for as long as she could remember. The Luthor Night Club was one of the biggest gateways for the export of illegal drugs and prostitutes in all of the states. The Luthors were well known for manipulating and avoiding the law and for years they have successfully done so, until her parents gathered enough evidence for a search warrant. The unwanted search led into an intense shooting which resulted in the death of Lillian Luthor, Lionel Luthor, and Jeremiah Danvers. Kara knew that getting involved with a Luthor was trouble from the start but Lena wasn't like the rest of them. She was kind, considerate, and had an incredible heart. She was not meant for the life that was destined for her.

Kara walks out to the balcony and stares longingly at the Eiffel Tower. The sight once gave her a warm feeling of love and light but now, a feeling of emptiness and anger. She walks back inside the hotel room, gathers her things, and makes her way to the airport. The second she takes her seat, she orders a bottle of wine and manages to consume it all within two hours of the flight. Alcohol in her system and tears down her cheeks, she closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. This is it. This is her life now... goodbye Lena.

Lena meets up with Lex at his office and she put on the best smile she could. As much as she loved him, she knew he was not a good person. He has done things that were unimaginably incomprehensible. She couldn't even fathom all the awful things he'd do to Kara if he ever found out. She takes a seat at the table and prays to god he doesn't notice her heavy makeup. She'd been crying all day, barely eating or sleeping, and the only way to hide it was using the thickest concealer she could find.

"I see Paris treated you well." He jokes, handing her a drink. "You look exhausted."

"I am. Jet lagged most likely."
