"Sam please, I don't want it to go unused. You deserve this, you've earned it." Lena begs, handing her the keys of the apartment.

"And you haven't?! Lena this isn't fair. You deserve better than this." Sam cries, wiping her tears.

"That's not how the law works." Lena sighs, bringing her best friend into a hug. "I'm lucky enough that they've given me a week before arresting me. I'm just grateful that Kara has been there and hasn't completely iced me out like I was scared of."

"You're going to have to tell her you know?" Sam states, chugging her wine.

"I know just not tomorrow. It's Maia's birthday and I want one last amazing day with my girls." Lena smiles, staring back at the duo sleeping on the couch. "Alex and Eliza have gotten me the best lawyers they could possibly find. I'm sure I won't be gone for long."

"Let's hope so."

"Okay enough with the pity party. Let's get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow."

"The princess is already one. Time does flies by so fast."

"Don't I know it." Lena chuckles. "Goodnight Sam."

"Goodnight Lena."

Sam makes her way into the bedroom while Lena walks over to the sofa, planting a kiss on both Kara and Maia's foreheads.

"Come on darling let's go to bed."

Kara groans a bit and slowly hands Maia off to Lena, as they both get up and head to Kara's bedroom. On the night Lena moved back in, both women had a very long and much needed heart to heart, explaining how they felt about everything in the past year. Although some of the tension was still there, they missed each other too much to care. They slept in the same bed for the past week, with arms and legs intertwined and Maia wedged in between. They woke up to small morning kisses and the other making breakfast. They easily fell into the same routine they had almost two years ago. And the both of them wanted nothing more than to just live in the moment.

This morning was nothing different. Lena's eyes slowly open and instantly smiles at the sight of Maia sleeping on Kara's chest, drool coming out of both of their mouths. Lena turns over to grab her phone and snaps a quick picture before responding to Sam's text.

Hey sleepy heads, I wanted to let the 3 of you sleep so I went to go pick up the food with Ruby. See you in a bit

Smiling at her phone and setting it down, Lena leans into Kara's arm a little closer and begins rubbing little circles onto Maia's back.

"You staring again?"

"I can't help it. The two most beautiful girls are right in front of me."

"You've always been such a flirt." Kara chuckles, placing a soft kiss at the top of Lena's head. "Morning."

"Morning."

"Today's the big day huh?"

"Yeah. Baby's officially a year old." Lena smiles, running her fingers through the baby's  curls.

"It's crazy how it went by so fast. I remember when Sam just dropped her off and-" Kara starts, not wanting to bring up anymore pain from that day. "She's just so big."

"Yeah well trying pushing that out of your vagina." Lena slightly chuckles, knowing the words stings a little. "But I'd do it 20 more times if it meant I'd have her."
