At 2:30 AM, Kara gets out of bed when she hears Maia start to whimper and runs to go get her. She hadn't slept all night, too anxious about all the stakes of today. She brings the child into her bed and cuddles her until Maia eases back to sleep. As she's sleeping, Kara took the time to admire her daughter's beautiful features and she strokes her smooth round cheek. It brings her back to when all of this started almost 8 months ago.

Kara smiles as she remembers how panicked she was about Maia's arrival. She spent weeks baby proofing every corner and outlet in her loft. She read hours and hours worth of parenting books. She stayed up night after night, scared of screwing it all up. Nothing ever prepares a person to become a mother but Kara is forever grateful that she had the opportunity to become one.

As confused as she is about Lena and her feelings towards her, one thing is for certain, she wants Lena to experience being a mother like she had. Maia deserves to have both mothers in her life who will love her with everything they have and Kara didn't want to rob her from that opportunity just because she's the one with issues. Maia is every part of Lena as she is Kara and if not more. Everyday as Maia grows older, she becomes more and more like Lena. Her dark black hair grows long and thick. Her brains and smarts develop a lot faster than any normal baby Kara's ever seen. She knows that she needs to put her differences aside and fight for her family. The risks she takes are all for her family.

She manages to fall back asleep and Sam wakes her up around 11:00, taking Maia off of her for the day. Sam gives her the best of luck and a long lecture about the Luthor family and their dangers before watching Kara leave. She heads over to CatCo and knocks on his office door, hoping he still wasn't upset about their talk last week. He swings the door open and gives her a dissatisfied look as she walks into the apartment.

"The makeup team is here for you. I'll meet you in the car when you're ready. I have a few meetings to attend." James replies, walking out. Sighing, Kara takes a seat and lets the makeup artists and hair stylists do their thing. The makeup was quite simple, a gray smokey eye and the hair was put into loose waves. She makes small talk as they apply the makeup and soon the wardrobe stylist walks in with Kara's gown options for the evening. After trying on a few dresses, Kara opts for the royal blue Versace gown and matching blue gloves. She then places a diamond necklace on Kara's neck and a set of dangling earrings to match. Alex made sure to let the stylist know that Kara needed to be the most eye drawing at the party, or else this wouldn't work, and the stylist really did not disappoint. Kara takes one look in the mirror and could barely recognize herself, gaining a new confidence that she most definitely needed. She might feel like a nervous wreck about all of this on the inside but she didn't dare show it. She didn't want to risk screwing this up. She gets into the car where James is already waiting. He gives her a quick nod and they head off to the Luthor Mansion in silence.

Lena slides on her red lipstick and glances at her emerald green gown, readjusting it so that it'll hug her figure more. She takes one last glance at the mirror and takes in a deep breath. This is it, everything she's been working for is leading all up to this day. Grabbing her phone, she looks at the photo she took with Maia, giving her a sudden burst of encouragement.

"I'll see you soon babygirl." She whispers, putting her phone in the gold clutch. She walks out of her room and makes her way to the ballroom where she awaits her introduction.

"Now without further ado, the genius behind Luthor Corp, my lovely sister, Lena." Lex smirks, stepping aside and giving the podium to his sister. She gives him a quick hug and smile before she takes step onto the microphone.

"Thank you, thank you." Lena smiles, waiting for the claps to stop. "For years now National City has been trying to decrease its carbon foot print due to its high dense population causing extreme damage. Electric cars are the perfect way to limit the amount of unwanted toxins into the air but they ultimately have too many disadvantages to be beneficial to the average person."

As she takes a glance out into the crowd, she notices a royal blue dress and the familiar figure. Looking up, she realizes it's Kara and swallows hard at the sight of her. What is she doing here? She's so beautiful, that dress shows her figure so well and her hair is perfectly pinned up to show her gorgeous face. This plan isn't going to work with her here. Alex said she was going to be left out of the loop, what happened? I miss her so much. Lena quickly gathers her thoughts together and continues on with her speech.

"So for the last eight months, Luthor Corp has been figuring out a way to make these electric cars more than what they are now. A car that not only helps out the environment but a car that has an impressive and appealing look to it as well. With the help of our top notch engineers and designers, I am proud to present the first prototype of the Legacy." Lena beams, revealing the white model car. "Legacy here is fully automated on electricity and requires no gasoline. The car itself has a built in Bluetooth charger and is able to charge itself with just a flick of switch at any given time. And the best part, the car is able to drive itself due it's navigation sensors and is able to pick up any signals or patterns of traffic. The price of the car starts off at $5 Million and we will auction it off by the end of the night. For now, feel free to give it a test drive with any of our lovely ladies over here and I hope to speak with a few of you soon. Thank you."

The crowd cheers her on and immediately dashes towards the car, trying to get a better look at it. Lena smiles and says her hellos before bee lining straight ahead for Kara and James.

"Hello Mr. Olsen fancy seeing you here." Lena states, walking up to them. "And I see you brought a plus one. James we agreed on this she couldn't-"

"I was the one who was insistent on going okay? Lena you can't make life altering decisions for Maia without me knowing. It's not right that-"

"Hey there handsome did you want to take a ride in the Legacy tonight?" one of the girls asks, walking up to James. Lena gives him the eye and he nods as he follows the girl to the car. Lena pulls Kara aside into a room and closes the door behind her, locking it.

"Kara I know you want to be every part of this as much as I am but this isn't your fight. I can not risk Maia possibly losing the both of us in one night."

"Lena that's not going to happen."

"Kara how many times do I have to tell you that you don't know my family! They're a bunch of lunatics who have no souls or compassion in their beings. I am not going to put the mother of my child in danger when I could've avoided it."

"Lena cut the crap. We both know you just don't want me here because it makes you feel guilty for all that you did to me."

"Yeah you seemed to move on pretty fine to me."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"James Kara really? That asshole?"

"That is none of your business and frankly it's irrelevant." Kara scolds, crossing her arms. "I'm sick and tired of you keeping secrets. You kept Maia a secret. You kept the reason why we broke up a secret. And now you're keeping this whole scheme a secret too. When are you going to let me in Lena? I know you better than anyone else and I don't understand why you just won't let me be here for you? This isn't just your fight Lena. This is ours. This is for Maia."

Lena locks eyes with Kara and melts at the tears pouring out of them. She knows that Kara meant it, she was going to fight for Maia and she's not leaving anytime soon.

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"Okay but you have to do exactly-"
A knock suddenly interrupts them and Lena walks over to answer the door.

"Everything okay Miss Luthor?" Vivian asks.

"Just wonderful. Miss Evans is ready for you now." Lena states, looking back at Kara. Kara swallows hard and nods, watching as Lena exits the room and panicking as to how this is all going to play out.
