Author's Note: This chapter will be split in half. The first part will be Thanksgiving and the second will be Christmas. Enjoy!
"Your mommy's little princess" cooed Harley as she talked to Skylar who was sitting in her bouncy seat on the kitchen island, "Yes you are".
Harley then turned around and got back to cooking. Jay had ran out to the store to pick up some drinks to go with dinner. Harley had been cleaning the house and cooking all morning.
"Babe I'm back!" called Jay as he walked into the house.
"Hey baby" smiled Harley as she watched Jay walk into the kitchen with a grocery bag.
He gave her a kiss before unpacking the groceries, "Everything smells and looks amazing".
"Thank you. What time is it?".
"Just about 4:30".
"People are going to show up any minute now. Can you greet them while I finish up dinner?"
"Whatever you need beautiful".
As if on cue the doorbell rang. Jay exited the kitchen and answered the door. Will, Nat, and Owen stood on the other side.
"Hey guys! Come on in!" greeted Jay as he hugged each one of them.
"Where's Harley?" asked Natalie as she held juice boxes and salad in her hand.
"Kitchen" informed Jay before Natalie headed in there.
"Hey you" grinned Natalie as she spotted Harley, "It smells fantastic in here!"
"Thank you!" replied Harley, stepping away from the counter for a moment to hug Natalie.
"So 5 weeks until the wedding! You must be excited".
"Yeah but a little stressed. It's just a lot on such little time. I don't know why I thought having a wedding right after Christmas was a good idea" chuckled Harley.
"Everything will work itself out" smiled Natalie before heading back into the living room.
Eventually everyone else had showed up and it was almost dinner time. Harley kept checking her phone, waiting for a text. She had a surprise guest that was supposed to arrive before dinner which was supposed to be served in 10 minutes.
Jay helped her move the food out into the table while everyone was seated at the table. Just as Skylar was snapped into the high chair and the last dish was placed on the table, the doorbell rang. Jay looked around the table, counting the guests.
"Everyone's here. Who could that be?" asked Jay.
"I don't know" lied Harley before walking over to the door and opening it.
She moved to the side and in walked Mouse with a big smile on his face. Jay jumped up and hustled to his long time friend.
"Mouse! Man what are you doing here?" asked an excited Jay.
"Harley called me and told me about the wedding. She mentioned you were still looking for a best man and here I am".
***
"Jay do you know who you want to be your best man yet?" asked Harley as they cuddled on the couch."I don't know. I always thought Mouse would be my best man, but he's overseas and I haven't heard from him in months".
"You can't imagine having anyone else doing it?"
"I mean obviously I'll have to have one of the guys do it. It's just...a part of my life I have to let go of".
***
Since that moment Harley was determined to get ahold of Mouse and get him here. So after pulling a free strings, she was able to get in contact with him. As soon as she told him her plan, he was on board."I'm so glad you're here man" admitted Jay, giving him another hug before allowing him to sit at the table.
Harley stood there with a mischievous smirk on her face as Jay just smiled back at her. He couldn't believe his beautiful fiancé had done all of this just for him.
"You're amazing" smiled Jay.
"I know" she shrugged with a teasing grin.
He gave her a hug and a quick kiss before they began to eat. Skylar enjoyed her first Thanksgiving and Jay was ecstatic to have Mouse back home. It was definitely a Thanksgiving none of them would forget.

Christmas"This is absolutely perfect" sighed Harley as she cuddled with Jay on the couch while watching Skylar crawl around on the carpet. Harley had taken a TON of Christmas photos of their little girl already and it was only 8am. They enjoyed the only sounds filling the house being the crackling of the fireplace and gibberish Skye was saying.
"This is the Christmas morning I always dreamed about as a kid" admitted Harley as she grasped her half full coffee mug.
"I couldn't ask for a better Christmas morning with the two most important girls in my life" smiled Jay.
Both of the watched Skylar crawl around slowly, falling every once in a while. She had just started doing it and when they saw it for the first time, both of them freaked out. Jay recorded it and the whole thing was just so cheesy and adorable.
"She's getting so much" sighed Harley.
"I know. I can't believe she's going to be 8 months in a few weeks. Seems like just yesterday we were sitting in your hospital room, holding her for the first time".
"And now look at her. She crawling and saying a word or two. Before we know it she'll be one!"
"I don't even want to think about that yet" chuckled Jay.
"One year ago today you hadn't proposed quite yet. And I was harboring a secret pregnancy" chuckled Harley, "Now we have a beautiful little girl and in three days we'll be husband and wife".
"It all went by so fast. But I know we have an amazing future ahead of us".
"You think about where we'll be in the future?"
"Of course. I mean it's just little stuff".
"Like what?"
"I don't know. I see us having a few more kids running around and a forever home in the suburbs..."
"And you'd be the Sergeant of Intelligence. We'd have the big family we always wanted and neither of us end up like our fathers".
"Agreed" chuckled Jay as they high fived.
"I love you Jay Halstead".
"I love you too almost Harley Halstead".
