After three weeks I was cleared for desk duty, but still had the sling. Each morning I'd get frustrated with getting dressed though. I had to have Jay button my jeans and help me get my arm through the sleeve before I could tighten the sling.

Someday I just kept tank top on and tossed one of Jay's flannels over it. While not being in the action was driving me crazy, it was nice to be alone on occasional in the bullpen when the morning sickness hit. It was easier to keep the secret. Although only having one hand also made that difficult too.

"You get the guy?" I asked as the team returned to district.

"We got him. Good work," Voight stated, and I sighed in relief.

"So how's it feel being back?" Kim asked with a smile.

"I'm glad I'm not going stir crazy at home, but I hate not being in the action here. Only a few more weeks until this things off."

"And physical therapy is going good?"

"Oh yeah, they said I excelled. I've got my full range of motility back. Just still in some pain when I lift my arm."

"You'll be good as knew soon enough. It's good to have you back in this form for now."

"Thanks Kim. When are you due again?"

"Mid to end of June. I'm also very much so over this limited action. At least I get some in the field action."

"That's true. I can't believe you guys aren't finding out the gender of this one! Not knowing would drive me crazy."

"I think it's just, we've had one of each and Makayla, so it really doesn't matter to us."

"That's fair."

A couple of morning later I woke up nauseous as can be. Morning sickness was kicking my ass early this time around. As I headed to our bathroom, I realized the door was locked and Jay was missing from bed.

"Jay! I'm gonna be sick!" I pounded on the door.

And that's when I heard a click and the door opened. I walked in to see Jay laying on the bathroom floor, looking sweaty.

"God you look like hell," I spoke, fighting back the need to vomit to deal with the situation at hand.

"Yeah I just threw up. Twice. And I don't think mine's morning sickness."

"What other symptoms do you have?"

"I'm hot and sweaty, but sometimes I feel cold. My body aches and I've got a slight headache."

I took his temperature before coming to a conclusion, "Babe, you've got the flu."

"Oh god. Now what?"

"You're going to be quarantined to our room, because you're not taking all our kids down with you, I can't handle that," I sighed, I'm going to disinfect the house after I drop the kids off and call Voight. But first, I'm going to go be sick in the kids bathroom."

And with that I took off, barely making it in time. Instantly I felt a little better. Cleaning myself up, I woke each of the kids up and helped them get ready for school. I changed into leggings and snagged one of Jay's shirts from the dryer.

"Mama, why isn't daddy helping this morning?" Ashton asked as I had them getting ready to leave.

"Daddy isn't feeling good, so he's going to stay in bed."

"Give him a goodbye hug and kiss for us then."

"I will buddy don't worry."

On the way to school I called Voight, explaining the situation and that we'd both be out today. Of course he understood. I dropped the older two off at school and Ryder off at daycare before running through McDonald's for breakfast for myself and then Starbucks for coffee. Pregnancy cravings at it's finest.
