"Samantha?" Harley sputtered, eyes as wide as saucers.

"You know her?" Maggie questioned Harley as she walked closer.

"This is my younger sister," Harley sighed before turning her attention to Sam, "What are you doing in Chicago?"

"I tried calling you, but you must have changed phone numbers," Sam giggled like an idiot.

Harley pulled Sam into a private waiting room, so they didn't cause a scene. She could smell the alcohol rolling off her younger sister's tongue. Typical Sam. Harley shut the door before crossing her arms and speaking.

"Sam, I'm not going to ask you again. Why are you in Chicago?"

"Can't a girl just come visit her sisters and niece and nephew?"

"Normally yes, but not you. You haven't even met my kids! You've been MIA for years, so no you can't just pop in for a casual visit. Especially since you're drunk"

"Fine. I came because I need money," she admitted.

"Of course you do. Well I can't help you Sam. I have a family to feed. I don't have any extra money to give. Don't you have a job?"

"I do, but I just spent all my money on bail for my boyfriend."

"Bail for your boyfriend?"

"Yeah, he uh got arrested for dealing, but he's honestly a good guy! We just need some money to get back on our feet."

"I don't know what to tell you. I don't have the money!"

"Ugh! You never do anything for me! Everything you've ever done was for yourself!" yelled Sam, storming out of the room and down the wrong hallway.

"For myself?" Harley scoffed, following her, "Everything I have ever done was for you and Becca! You have no idea what I sacrificed for you!"

"Oh please!"

"You have no idea the pain I went through to protect you. You have no idea how many times I took the blame for the stupid things you did, so dad would hit me and not you. Mom was gone a lot and that's when he did it. She knew, but there was nothing she could do at that point. It was life or death!" I cried, "It got so much worse after Mom died. I worked my ass off to provide for Becca and I'm the one who raised her until she was almost five! You know who was wiring the payments to your community college? That was me! So don't you dare say I never did anything for you because I did everything I could to give you the life I never had and you just threw it all the way for a drug habit. So no, I don't have anything more to give you. I'm spent! Now all my money goes towards giving my children the amazing childhood I never had."

"You deserve everything you got!" she barked, "You're going to regret this."

"Believe me. I won't. Go back to New York where you belong."

She turned around and stormed out. Harley wiped the tears from her face and turned around to see Jay standing in the hallway. More tears began to fall as he approached her and wrapped his arm tightly around her.

"How long have you been standing there?"

"Since I first heard the yelling. She's wrong you know. You and Becca both know that you did everything for your sisters. You were right to stand your ground."

"I know. I still can't believe she showed up here."

"Sometimes the people who don't want to show up are the one's who actually do."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

A few days later there was a knock on the front door. Harley was home with the kids while Jay had a quick meeting at the district. She opened the door to see an officer along with a man and a woman who were well dressed.
