June 20th 1960
*knock knock knock*

I turn my head away from the magazine I was reading on the sofa to the front door. I was the only one home, dads at work and mums out at the laundrette.

I sigh and slowly start to, stand up.

*knock knock knock*
I hear again

"I'm coming!" I called so whoever it was so that they could hear me.

I opened the door to be met with an unfamiliar, confused face.

"Yes?" I asked quite impatiently, but shy.

"Um, I'm sorry, but my mates were wondering if you'd wanna come to the beach with us, or something." He said confused.

I reached to shut the door and said, "go to the beach with people I don't even know?" I asked rhetorically and attempted to close the door until I heard a yell.

"Fucking hell, Riley" John

"Give me like, 5 minutes." I sighed, looking at my small dark green watch, "you can wait in here if you want...." I held out, waiting for a name.

"Stuart." The man, Stuart, finished.

I grabbed my dark red, full body swim suit, a pair of matching slanted red sunglasses and a bag with sunscreen in.

I walked down the stairs to Stuart, who had awkwardly been waiting at the bottom of the stairs waiting for me and ushered him out of the open door along with myself, carefully closing and locking the door it behind me.

Getting into the car, Stuart got into the drivers seat next to Paul and so I sat in the back, with it going from left to right; george, John then me.

On the way to the beach John kept looking at me with raised eyebrows smirking.

After around an hour long awkward drive, we finally arrive in Blackpool.

Making our way to the beach itself I strike up a conversation, "so how come Pete isn't here?"

"He's been doing some shifts at the Casbah Club for his mam." John said smiling.

I shrugged, "so who's this Stuart fella'." I whisper to George on my right.

He looks at me as we arrive on the beach, "He goes to art school with John. He sometimes comes to our gigs."

I looked at him with confusion laced on my face, "Oh, fun"

I didn't really keep up with the music in Liverpool, not really my thing.

George chuckled, whereas I just leant my head on his shoulder whilst we looked for parking.

I went to change into my swimsuit, when I came out I saw that the boys hadn't got their swim shorts on yet.

"Looking good, Riley." John teased.

I rolled my eyes and sat on a blue towel one of the lads must've brought.

I put my sunglasses on, looking up to them, "why is it I'm the only one ready to swim."

"Well we was planning on riding the donkeys." Stuart said trying to not seem so awkward around me.

"You're joking." I said giggling Just as awkwardly back at him.

John started rummaging through the bag I brought, much to my dismay.

He pulled out my sunscreen and started spraying it all over the sand.

I jumped on him, grabbing it, I was sat on his lap as he was lead on the floor, confused.

"What do you want with my sunscreen, Lennon?" I asked, more confused than angry.

"I just wanted to make sure that the bloody sand didn't get sunburned."

I got off of him, Rolling my eyes and sat back where I was before. He got up and stood with the lads.

The lads did actually ride the donkeys. And after that they did eventually get in the water with me, that consisted of piggyback fights and holding breath competitions.

After around and hour of that, we went to a nearby chippy and just sat there talking about life.

It was a pretty good day.
