December 31st 1960

The Casbah Club was packed to say the least. The Beatles had made a impact on Liverpool's youth after leaving for Hamburg, a lot of the bands that did had done so - but the Beatles especially. And when it was announced that they were performing at the Casbah for New Years memberships were quick to sell to say the least.

It was their first performance since leaving all those months ago.

The two girls skipped down the tight back area of Mathew Street. Blowing smoke as they giggled over things that would be out of their head by morning.

"Alright ladies?" A boy that seemed to be popping up more frequently asked, Stan.

The boy with dirty blonde hair was leaning against the brick wall at the back alley of the cavern, a cigarette between his lips, he was letting the girls sneak through the back to avoid the payment.

Since Stan had let Finn go into the cavern with no charge weeks ago he'd became a good friend of the group, Kath, George, Paul and Pete. He actually went to the boys institute and was in the year above Finn, same as George.

He wore a grey and brown checkered jumper, a leather jacket over the top to keep him warm. He had grey pants on and brown boots. His hair was curly-quiffed like most of the lads wore.

He threw his smoke to the ground as he gave the girls a cheeky smile once they finally reached him.

In one swift motion, he turned and opened the back door leading into the cavern, leading them down a cold hallway.

Based on the looks of the crowd out the front of the club, this was probably the entrance the Beatles snook in through. Finn wondered if they were already here - and if so how long for.

She wanted to call John before going but thought it'd be stupid. He probably wasn't home and even if he was he would've called her if he wanted to talk.

Stan and the girls had reached the bar of the cavern, the cold hallway lead to a stuffy - smoke reeking club, packed to the brim of adolescents and young adults.

Finn and Kath shuffled off their leather jackets,

"I can take those." Stan ushered as he took their coats.

And with that they were alone. Alone in a packed room.

"How does my hair look?" Finn asked the older girl, she wore it Brigitte Bardot style since she knew it was what all the lads liked. Although they'd much prefer a blonde she didn't have the money to spend on getting it dyed.

Kath chuckled, "Beautiful! Now stop messin' with it! John'll think you look nice no matter." She reassured the brunette.

Finns face flushed as she was quick to defend, "I don't care how I look for John! You never know who's looking at ya."

Kath simply rolled her eyes as she dragged the girl to the side corner of the stage.

The opening band had said their 'thank you's and 'good bye's and left the stage.

The atmosphere of the room changed drastically the once loud room had become so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Maybe that was a bit of exaggeration.

Everyone grew impatient and restless as the excitement and anticipation for the Beatles the appear on the stage grew.

Even Finn, who was friends with them and had seen them rehearse multiple times was excited. She stood up straight from the wall, tried to inch a bit closer as the tension grew.

Then as if like magic, a guitar riff played. The younger girls - around Finns age - bear the front 'woo'd as they saw the first figure step on the stage.
