—————————————It was Thursday afternoon and Finn was making her way over to the local weather-spoons.
Her Cynthia and Dot had made plans to meet and have a catch up.
Finn was still in her school uniform, her black school blazer with a white blouse tucked into her rolled up, pleated black skirt, paired with black stockings and low heeled black school shoes.
Upon entering she could see Dot and Cynthia already seated at a table. Dot also wore the same school uniform but due to her being in the year above, year 11, she didn't need to attend school for all 6 hours, only the classes she needed for her O Levels.
Finn was greeted by warm smiles. After ordering a coke, the conversation started about the older girls relationships.
"...he writes me these lovely letter, with drawings all over them." Cynthia finished a monologue that Finn, guiltily, paid no attention to.
"That is so sweet cyn! Paul never does any of that, he does take me on the proper romantic walks though." Dot said, as though it were the best thing to happen to her in the world.
Cynthia turned to the youngest girl, "What about you, Finn?"
"What about me?" She asked taking a gulp of her Coca-Cola.
Dot placed her elbows on the table, chin resting in her hands, "don't you take a fancy in any of the lads 'round 'ere?"
"Not really." Finn lied, she fancied any good looking lad that smiled at her in the street.
"Come on, Finn. There has to be someone."
"It wouldn't matter though. Doubt any one would like me back." She said, her getting self conscious of her body, once again.
Dot and Cynthia exchanged looks. "Course they would, you're a good looking girl." Dot reassured her.
"You should see the way George looks at yous." Cynthia said, sipping through the straw of her lemonade.
"That's not likely, after what he said the other day." Finn said, mumbling the last part.
With furrowed eyebrows Dot asked, "why? What did he say the other day."
"Something about how undeveloped me body is." She explained to the girls as if she didn't really care.
Dot scoffed at this, "Like he's one to talk though, really, he's just stick and bones. His balls probably haven't even dro-"
"Don't worry about it." Cynthia was quick to interrupt Dot, "You'll grow into your body more in a few months."
"No I won't."
"Course ya will." Dot chuckled
"I haven't gotten my period yet, so I probably won't."
"How old are you." Cynthia asked carefully, knowing that due to the previous statement, this was probably a touchy subject for the young girl.
Finn ran her hand through her hair, "fifteen in July."
"You'll most likely get it at some point this year, then." Cynthia smiled at her, "nothing to worry about."
