The stinging frozen snow fell from above, almost unbearable to see what was 2 feet away. House lights were on, but very dim and some flickered due to the snow storm. No footprints were seen, but snow piled high, leaving the impression that the blizzard had been going on for a long while. The wind screamed against the trees and corners of homes, like an invisible ghost calling out in sorrow to the strength that was the storm.
"Couldn't of picked a better place to teleport too I guess." Sans lifted his hoodie up to cover his eyes to see better through the harsh snowfall. "My house is a bit of ways up, think you can make it?" Susan, visibly shivering, gave a nod which could of easily been mistaken for her freezing body. Thankfully Sans was close enough to where she had a bit more cover and something warm to stay near to fight of the cold. She didn't give any say about the tearing feeling in her chest however, the cold was almost the same pain as she was feeling on the inside. The same feeling she felt when she fell into the underground.
Step by step, slip by fumble, they began making their way through the storm. It was strange to think that even in a cave, weather effects were the same as the surface, possibly a little harsher than what Susan was used too. Where she used to live, they'd get pretty bad storms, but nothing this bad. It almost seemed like the weather was challenging them as they pressed on.
With freezing figures and squinted eyes, the both of them came up to a house of relatively large size. The lights were on and quite brightly as well. The house was a two story; A balcony overlooking a frozen lake on the right, two windows for each floor, a small pirate flag flapping harshly against the wind on the left corner of the roof, and small decorative lights like people would use for the holidays. The door had a reef placed in the middle, with a window above it. The door was slightly ajar however, and someone seemed to be peeking out of it as Susan and Sans got closer.
"BROTHER! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN! IT'S BEEN A WEEK AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME WHERE YOU WENT! YOU WEREN'T AT ANY OF YOUR POSTS!" The peeking figure now opened the door wide to reveal themselves. A much taller skeleton, armor adorned his body and a long red scarf flapped violently behind him as he came to greet the two storm trudger's. "I WAS WORRIED SICK! YOU NEED TO KEEP ME IN TH-" The taller skeleton stopped his loud squawking as he noticed his brother supporting someone else, who seemed to be wrapped up in bandages and limping.
"OH MY! WHO DO YOU HAVE!? QUICK COME INSIDE BEFORE THE SNOW PILES AT THE DOOR STEP!" Sans eventually got him and Susan up to the porch. Susan, now looking to the taller skeleton, could piece together that these two were related, even with the massive size difference. The taller skeleton looked exactly like displays you'd see in doctors offices or school rooms, just a bit more animated.
Once the two were inside, the taller skeleton seemed to gasp as he observed Susan closer now, red gloves covering his mouth before he screeched once more, "SANS, THE GREAT PAPYRUS WHOM IS I, NEEDS A QUICK WORD WITH YOU!" Without hesitation, the taller skeleton dragged his brother off into another room, from where Susan was standing it looked like the kitchen.
Since her support got dragged away, Susan had to lean on the wall next to the door. She took her time trying to recollect her thoughts as she looked about the skelebros home. Even through the constant screaming in the kitchen, which seemed worrisome, Susan tried to keep a calm composure.
The house was indeed warm, compared to outside. A single light on the ceiling to brighten up the living room, the window to the far left of the room would of helped too, but it was close to midnight and the storm didn't help much. To the right of her was a table; some books lay across it in a messy manner, and a small plate with a single rock surrounded by sprinkles centered the table, underneath were a couple of dog bowls. To Susan's left expanded the rest of the room. A big green couch against the wall, a small coffee table with a single book lay across it. Across the room was a entertainment center with a large TV. A single sock lay near the entertainment table, with what appeared to be sticky noted covering it. There was a staircase leading up, but it was impossible to see what was up there from the angle Susan was standing. DVD's and cases scattered near the TV, some similar to the ones Alphys had.
After looking about, the taller skeleton came rushing out. a plate of mugs with what looked like hot chocolate swishing with his quickened pace. "HUMAN! MY BROTHER INFORMED ME THAT YOU ARE STAYING WITH THE GREAT PAPYRUS! I SHALL MAKE YOU FEEL AT HOME, WITH MY MOST FAMOUS CUPS OF COCOA!" He handed a cup with a warm smile and a happy 'nyehehehe' that escaped his jaws when Susan gave a returning grin.
"MY COCOA IS BEST! BUT NOT AS GOOD AS THE GREAT PAPYRUS'S SPAGHETTI! I SHALL MAKE SOME IMMEDIATELY!" With that noted, he dashed into the kitchen again, still giving his brother a cup before following his cooking duty.
Sans set the cup on the table, heading for the stairs. "We don't have alot of room here for guests. I'll get ya a pillow and blanket, the couch is more than comfortable." He disappeared up the staircase. It was hard to hear upstairs noises, the walls were soundly built, not even the screams of the wind outside could be heard. Susan took a few sips of her cocoa, slowly attempting to get to the green couch. It was huge compared to the ones she'd seen on the surface, almost the size of a full king bed. Why'd they need such a big piece of furniture was beyond her, all she knew was that it wouldn't be hard to fall off it.
As Sans came back downstairs; pillow in one hand and a few blankets in the other, he looked out the window to the raging outdoor scenery. "How long has this storm been going on for Paps?" He spoke up, not as loud as his brother did, but enough to be heard.
"AFTER YOU LEFT IT STARTED KICKING UP, YESTERDAY NOT SO BAD, PICKED UP THIS AFTERNOON! HOPE THIS DOESN'T BECOME A TROUBLING STORM FOR WORK TOMORROW!" Susan squinted as she finally got herself to one end of the couch, trying not to let her bandaged leg touch the ground. The hot cocoa warming her chilly hands as she scooted back to lean on the large couch. "Is he always this loud?" She chuckled taking another sip of her drink. Sans nodded, and a sly grin creeped on his cheeks.
Helping set up a bed spot on the couch for the crippled girl, Sans whispered, "You wanna hear loud? Watch this." Sans cupped his hands to his teeth before calling. "If this weather doesn't let up, i guess will be Snowdin for a few days!" A metal clank came from the kitchen after the pun was heard. Sans seemed to vibrate a tad as he started giggling. "It's 'snow-kidding' you were so worried little brother!" A annoyed groan sounds out and Sans is starting to hold his sides as his laugh gets louder. "Awe c'mon Paps! Don't give me the 'cold' shoulder!" Papyrus screams, the metal clanking signalling he dropped a heavy cooking spoon, and it landed in the living room with flailing red gloves coming through the doorway.
"THIS IS NO TIME FOR PUNS SANS! DON'T INFECT THE HUMAN WITH YOUR NONSENSE JOKES!" Susan couldn't help but laugh along with the now rolling on the floor Sans. Even for how annoyed his taller brother seemed, they still had a strong bond to look past the pestering behaviors and have a bit of fun.
