Buried Memories of the Soul

The ping of buttons, amongst the heavy footsteps, rang in Adder's mind; cautiously grimacing at the high pitched noise, and pushing her strained skull into the black of Gaster's coat. Everything seemed to hurt; noise, smells, keeping her eyes shut as sight would only seem to pierce her head. The only thing she could manage to do, is get as close to Gaster as she could to block the world out. Even as the world was black, the street lights and occasional honking car was very hard to maintain for the small baby-bones.

Gaster on the other hand, frantically worrying about the small one in his arms, holding Papyrus in his other free arm. A large Gaster Blaster towering over as Gaster ran, displaying the same worried look as it frequently turned around to check for intruders following them.

With his phone dialed by his magical hands, he held the phone to his skull. No doubt it would be hard to talk with his heavy hot and rapid breath, but he needed any help he could get.

"Hell-"

"Dr. Alphys!" His breath caught as he turned around a street corner. His gaze would occasionally go to the massive mountain that towered over the city and neighborhood, surrounded by a forest not many humans dared venture through. "It's W.D., I need you at my residency, it's urgent!" His voice, pinged with worry and exhaustion, gave the simple clue to the monster on the other end.

"Oh-h oh my, right away sir! A-a-anything specifics to bring?" The now shakily meek voice on the other end was muffled with noise, blabbering nonsense as they seemed to move alot of things around. "Med kits, scanners if you can grab them, and some of my heavy doses of PK, they're in my office! Run like the wind Alphys!" Gaster clicked his phone to end the call and stashed it away.

Papyrus, listening to his panicked father, and watching the very different looking and painful Adder in the opposite arms, began babbling and stretching his little arms in Adder's direction. Papyrus remembered last time he'd seen Adder, and wanted nothing but to be close and 'attempt' to talk to her. He wasn't the best with words yet, but that never stopped him from trying.

Reaching the roots of the mountain now, Gaster's pace slowed as he spotted Sans waiting for the three of them. Being almost perfect with his teleportation skills, he went on ahead to prepare a pathway to the underground. The usual entrance was to far up and quite dangerous to travel in the dark. "Is she ok, dad?" Sans peeped, his little hands pushing closer to the rocky wall to expand a portal; the other end showed a beautiful snowy village with lots of houses and the bustle of monster kids. Gaster stepped through carefully, not to touch any of the portal's sides as the four of them walked through.

"I don't know Sans, but will figure it out when we get home. Can you fix the living-room for me son? She'll be with us for a bit this time." Stepping into the cold snow of Snowdin, Gaster clung Adder a bit more to his chest, as he watched his son vanish in a quickness. She didn't have proper attire for such a chilling environment, and her shaking only worsened when the freezing temperature hit them both. "Just a little bit further Adder...stay up for me, don't fall." It was increasingly hard for Adder to follow those directions, her head screamed for rest and her body ached. In a way she felt drugged, her soul feeling the pulls of solitude. Craving for sleep, almost begging for it, but she stayed conscious. Opening her eyes, as much as they screamed back in pain, she could make out the small cloth designs of Gaster's coat, and a small orange blur of Papyrus in his other arm.

As Gaster moved, trying to get his legs through the thick snow with struggle, another set of crunching footsteps could be heard; a small yellow monster, smaller undeveloped frills on the back of their head, and a small horn on their nose, they stood straight in appearance but hung their head low as they attempted to get through the thick snow, having more trouble than the lengthy skeleton. "I-i came as s-soon as I could!" She shouted, but it was more of a squeak than a shout. She was also struggling to not drop all of the supplies she had, even her thick tail was holding items.

Getting close to Gaster's home, the sounds of heavy rustling and banging can be heard inside. Floating objects passing over the window as Gaster and Alphys step foot on the porch. "He's gonna overwhelm himself again." Gaster grumbled. Alphys half heartily smiles.

"You k-k-now he's got a big heart sir, gets i-it from you no doubt." The door swings open, revealing a room filled with shelves covering every wall, completely stacked with books and papers. The T.V. cluttered with movies, both child movies and sophisticated theory lab-tapes. The floor was bare of any  debree, besides a small white tongue-lolling dog sprawled on it's back, not a care in the world. A large green couch against the wall, blankets and pillows stacked on one cushion. A large black cushioned chair angled at the side of the couch, both faces the T.V. on the opposite side of the room. A passed out Sans lay on the black chair, his head not even on the cushions as he dangled from the furniture in the most awkward of positions.

Gaster let Papyrus down to free roam then took his attention to the fading-conscious Adder, gently placing her to the green couch and grabbing what pillows he could to prop her up. Papyrus ventured close to watch, but stayed at one end of the couch to keep out of Gaster's way encase something happened. Alphys was busily preparing the med kit and organizing her belongings as she listened to Gaster's report on the small one's well-being.

"Burning up. Shaking. Not responsive to physical speech. Negative reactions to movement." His serious tone boomed through the living-room,  as he listed off everything he could see on Adder's status. "Bones appear to be darkening, no longer white like ours. Skull intact after rapid growth of horns." Gaster lifts one of her hands, the tips seem sharper than usual and thicker than the rest of her hand. "formation of claws on fingers and toes. Tail bone continues to extend" Alphys is quick with note and pencil in her hands, every report not going missed.

Gaster put his hand over the tiny chest of Adder, the large hole his hand held started to glow a soft green. A small heart appeared between Adder's rib-cage, pumping fast and hard...another heart followed after it. The view of these two souls made Gaster go rigid and stiff, his reporting stopped as he looked at the two souls; they seemed to move side by side, struggling and bashing against one another at one point, then another moment softly rubbing against the other with strings attaching them close. At this point Alphys could see them too, and was as equally shocked.

"Verus what have you done..." Gaster murmured under his breath as the two scientists watched the tiny souls, fusing and separating, constantly battling.
