Three hours had passed since Gaster had gotten Adder to his residence. Three hours of having to here her scream in pain, uttering words for her sister, cursing her fathers name, and repeating about memories. Three hours, it took Gaster to finally calm the small, troubled and damaged baby-bones, and finally get her to sleep.
Covered in a heap of blankets and pillows, only her little head and newly formed horns are visible as she silently rests. Against the thick of the blankets is a small monitor; monitoring magic output, soul status, keeping track of anything troubling that both scientists would need to be aware of.
Currently only one of them was awake to monitor Adder's progress, taking notes and keeping track of everything she said. Alphys was also making sure the other baby-bones kept quiet, to keep both Adder and Dr. Gaster from waking. Gaster had fallen asleep within the hour, clutching some of the blankets that held Adder, pencil and paper still in his hands.
"How much does your father sleep. H-h-he looks like he hasn't slept in five days?" Alphys questioned a now conscious Sans, whom was quietly keeping Papyrus entertained with a few puzzle toys. Sans shrugged, unsure on how to respond, "He's always busy. Even after he puts me and Pap to sleep, I've heard him talk to himself late at night." Sans pats his little brother's skull, "This little bean stays asleep through all the loud talking, thank Asgore." Sans makes a slight motion towards the two passed out skeletons on the couch, "Think Adder will be ok?"
Alphys gave one last look at the heavily blanketed mass on the couch, and Gaster's arms stretching around each side of the mass. "I'm not sure. I'll let your father keep some of this lab equipment for safety measures." She mentions towards the pile of supplies and a med kit at one end of the couch. "I'm taking my leave for the night. You sure you two will be alright?" Alphys asked as Papyrus lit up with glee, having solved on of the toy puzzles, pushing it to Sans to mess it up again for him to solve. Sans gave a nod as he fiddled with the small cube of colours.
With that, Alphys got to her feet and made motion towards the door, only to have it open before she laid her paws to the knob. "Oh-h my, didn't expect to see you here! Gaster will inform you once he wakes...w-w-whenever that is." Alphys gives a small bow to the figure in the doorway as she scoots past, into the cold snow of the night.
Sans face lit up once he set his eyes on the new figure in the doorway, giving a slight wave. "Were up late, I know." Sans handed the puzzle piece back to Pap as he explained, "Dad had an emergency." Pointing to the sleeping Gaster, hunched over the blankets.
Fully entering the living room, giving the glow of a living flame, and the soft noise of cracking embers signaling his worry for the two on the couch, Grillby closed the door gently. Unwanting to disturb them, and blocking the heat inside the room, that he too was creating. Silently asking Sans on how long they'd all been here.
"Dad got us all here about three hours ago, might be a little more, been a long day." Sans could see the worry on Grillbys face turn to a more concerned and not so pleased frown, more so for the fact that both Sans and Pap were up so late. Sans stood, gathering his little brother in his arms as best he could, "I guess it is about time. C'mon Pap, story time."
With that, the two left the room, leaving Grillby with a sleeping Gaster and small baby-bones he didn't quite recognize. Giving a small flame of a sigh, licking the air that surrounds his mouth as he rubs his temples at what could unravel if he woke Gaster, Grillby started putting his belongings away. Undressing from his new suit, what he wore for the bar he just recently opened days before, leaving him in his black dress pants and a white button down shirt.
Making sure to not disturb the two, Grillby moved silently, only giving the occasional soft pop of a flying ember, which quickly died away as soon as it left his flaming figure. Leaning down once he got close enough, taking a closer look at the baby-bones huddled in the mass of blankets, afterwards giving a gentle prick of a fiery kiss to the top of Gaster's Skull, before making his way upstairs, to surrender his tired mind to sleep like the rest of them.
