Carefully making their way to the warming lights of the building, large letters at the top of the wall shined brightly. "This is Grillby's! Finest place to eat in my opinion." Sans reached for the door. Even the lightest crack let out an aroma of smells and the welcoming heat of indoors.
"Ladies first." Sans smirked, holding the door wider now, inside almost glowed a honey hue and the noises of laughter came from inside. The scenery was darkly lit, cups of fire on the walls. Big red cushioned couches and chairs set up with dark honey-orange stained tables. The floor a very nice polished red wood, seemingly well kept for an eatery. The bar was polished in the same color as the tables, more sleek and smooth looking then anything else, and little cushioned stools that tucked nicely under the counter of the bar. In the top right of the room was a reddish-orange music box, another 'Grillby's' Logo above it in neon colors, a soft jazzy tune filled the room.
There didn't seem to be to many people enjoying the warmth and comfort of the eatery today, as Susan and Sans both entered and saw only one table occupied by two guard doggos. At the bar, which made Susan about stop in her tracks, was the centerpiece of the bar...the owner himself. Sporting a black suit, white underneath, a black bow-tie at the neck, and sleek black dress pants. What was keeping Susan almost awestruck was the flames that never seemed to set the clothing on fire, or even the counter that he leaned against. With square glasses shifting upwards to see new customers, the fire elemental gave a single wave.
"Grillby! Long time no sleep my friend!" Sans called, gently taking Susan's arm to help get her out of the rude staring trance she was caught in. "Haven't seen ya in a week. How've you been holding?" Grillby seemed to only nod in Sans direction as the two took a stool to sit at. He then pointed a flickering finger towards Susan.
"Oh right my bad. Susan, this is Mr. Grillby! The owner of this fine eatery in all of the underground. Grillby this is..eh..." Sans drew his finger, asking for the fire elemental to come close, which Grillby complied. A few words were uttered as they hushed, the slow jazz consuming whatever they spoke of. After Sans sat back in his stool, "What on today's agenda, all that storm must mean you have alot left over right?"
Grillby had given Susan a look of uncertainty, almost the same look as the monsters from outside, the look gave Susan a not so happy side glance to Sans jacket. Not looking at the skeleton, but not looking elsewhere either. In her head she started to wonder what Sans may of called her to describe to the flaming bartender. "C'mon Grills, she's not gonna bite you. Your made of flame, I'm pretty sure she'd prefer something sweeter." Sans winked to the both of them. Getting a chuckle out of Susan as least was a start. Grillby seemed to mellow his look on her too, but not completely.
Handing them both menus to look over, Susan and Sans went over every dish, mostly Sans pointing out the favorites of the bar and most well known dishes. "I think I'll try 'The Signature'. Would it be possible to have it rare?" Susan looked up to see Grillby's token aback. Pointing his thump at her as he swiftly looked back to Sans for an explanation. "Yeah, this one talks." More intrigued now than judgmental, Grillby took each menu and stepped through two swinging doors to prepare.
"Weren't you going to order?" Susan asked when the bartender had vanished into the kitchen. Sans shook his head as he spun around, leaning two elbows to the counter and watched the bar scene. The two guard doggos were preforming a arm wrestling match...with their tails. "He knows what I want, I always get it."
It seemed only seconds that Grillby had gone to the back, now coming out with a silver tray with the two orders. A fairly decent sized cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato and a red runny sauce spilling from the still sizzling rare cooked patty, and a small helping of salted fries. The other dish, a smaller cheeseburger, patty cooked medium, and slathered in ketchup, with no side. Two large tubular ketchup bottles came with both meals. Why would two customers need such large quantities of ketchup?
