Chapter 13 Stormy Weather
I woke up not feeling much better than I did when I went to sleep, but I had a very busy day ahead of me. I squeezed Lizzie tight and rolled out of bed and off to the bathroom to begin that day. I was hoping for Lunch with Lizzie but wasn't sure if anything I was hoping for would pan out.
I was vaguely aware of him squeezing me before he got out of bed. I still had a bit before I had to get up. I considered showering with him, but it seemed like we were out of sync again. I cuddled his pillow and let myself slip back to sleep.
I made breakfast for us both, prepared her tea as usual and went to wake her. I stood in the doorway and just watched her sleep for a moment. Yup, I was still in love. I didn't imagine that was going to change ever. I walked to her side of the bed. "Sweetheart, it's a little early yet. I made breakfast. Wake up please."
I heard his voice and started to get up. I had forgotten that I was naked. I ran to the bathroom and took care of business. I found some pajamas to put on and followed him to the kitchen. I hated when there was weirdness between us. It felt like an itchy sweater. I was hoping things would get back to normal soon, but we were both so busy lately.
"What did you have to do today? And what is your pen name?"
I giggled at his second question. "Not gonna get past this one are we? I have a meeting with my editor and a schedule review. Other than that, I am free." I shook my head. "It's Alexis Moonglow. I told you it's ridiculous."
"You're right, pretty ridiculous, Miss Moonglow, Pretty cute too." I smiled. "Do you think we can meet for lunch?
"My meeting is at 2, so that should be doable depending on what time you want to go to lunch."
"I'll set an alarm, 12:00 sound good. Sandwiches and the shop by the studio?"
"Sounds great. I will set an alarm as well. Thank you for breakfast."
"Cool. C'mere."
I responded to him like I always do. It was like a magnet. I was drawn to his arms. "Mmmkay."
I wrapped my arms around her and held her tightly then kissed her forehead. "I'm not going anywhere. I love you, I hope you understand that." I turned her chin up and kissed her until I was dizzy with emotion. "I need to go or I'll never make it to the studio and you'll be late as hell to your meeting." I gave her a quick kiss and headed out.
I whined a little as he pulled away, but I nodded. "I'm not either. I love you too." I watched him leave and then headed to go take a shower and get my day started. After I was dressed, I sat down with my articles from Friday, finalized them, and sent them out.
I worked on my own through the morning. I got so engrossed in what I was doing that my alarm scared me half to death. I took my break and met Lizzie at the sandwich shop. I got there just moments before she did.
I met him at the sandwich place. He jumped when I stepped up beside him. "I'll have my usual. Did you have a good morning?" I almost reached for his hand, but I stopped myself.
"Gah, yes. It was fine. I got a lot of paperwork done and did some writing." I reached down and tangled my fingers in hers for a moment. "I think I'll do the same. Did you want to find us a seat before they are all gone? I'll bring your food. Rootbeer?"
"And a snickerdoodle please." I smiled at him and found us a table in the corner by the window. I was lost in a daydream when he came to the table with the food.
I looked at the space next to her. "There won't be enough elbow room. I'm gonna sit in front of you instead." I set the tray down with the food and drinks between us and smiled. The place was pretty crowded so it was a little noisy but that was alright.
