A final announcement called all first years to the assembly area. Aster; Jason and Dante' hit it off immediately and waited together. Not too far from them, Carmen, Kristen, and Andrea stood together. Primrose had two other girls already following her around like lost puppies. And as much as they were just that to Primrose, to everyone else, it seemed as though these girls had sticks shoved too far up their butts, the crowd settled down as the lecturers filed in, followed by the Chancellor- a friendly looking elderly man. "Students, welcome to Princeton Academy, your educational home for the next few years-my name is Mr. Anderson. By now, you'd have already received a brochure about the academy and everything it has to offer. It may seem a bit overwhelming but that is why we have our orientation week, in order for you all to find your footing in a less stressful manner....Join clubs you like; socialize and make friends; explore- but don't forget you will all be placed in one of three houses; Eagles; Sharks or Dragons. Each house stands for and offers something different and you'll soon see just how much of competitiveness there is to be the best here - at the end of orientation; you'll need to list the houses in order of your top pick to your least favorite. And remember, while you're judging the houses and its members; they will be watching and judging you- so make brilliant first impressions and maintain them to get your first choice. Use this week wisely but also enjoy it", he ended with a smile and received a round of applause from the students.
Time flew by while they all explored, but at exactly twelve, they were taken to the dining hall, which was massive. People were already seated at majority of the tables, most of the returning students smiled at the newbie's; some sneered and the rest just didn't care. Dante'; Jason; Aster; Carmen; Andrea; Kristen; Primrose and her two lost puppies sat at one of the central tables and began talking as if they already knew each other and were just catching up. Andrea caught sight of her brother who was seated at what was clearly table for more popular students as it was situated by the huge windows overlooking a great view; she waved at him and received a nod of a response before his attention returned to his company. Kyrene came over to her sister, "How do you like it so far?"
"It's amazing", Kristen couldn't resist a smile.
Kyrene chatted for a bit to everyone, "I'll let you get back to bonding with the rest of your gang, see you in a bit okay", she took her leave once Kristen nodded her acknowledgment
"Your sister seems nice..." Andrea said
"You guys," Jason interrupted. "We have tomorrow through to Thursday to do everything, each day is a house meet and greet and then Friday we make our submissions, so that means we get our houses by this weekend? Unless we get it when we start next Monday, either way, this is really happening! I'm so amped!"
"I wonder what each house offers..." Aster said
"Dragon offers a bad ass name, that's enough for me" Dante' said with a laugh
"My brother Austin is in that house- what about your sister Kristen?" Andrea asked
"Oh, she's in Eagles"
"I'm sure it'll be great- whichever houses we end up with..." Carmen ended off
Primrose nodded with a smile
*******
The next day, the gang (excluding Primrose's lost puppies) met in the academy's main courtyard, it was already jam packed with stalls and students everywhere; it was a mixture of sights, smells and sounds. "We should start somewhere" Dante yelled above the noise
