Chapter 18: The Decision

Alex woke up in an unfamiliar apartment, he was in a lot of pain and he didn't know why. He couldn't stand up

"Hey, take it easy" Henry said whilst sitting across him

"What's happening to me?" Alex asked whilst rubbing his head

"You're transitioning" Henry smiled

"How?" Alex asked with a frown

He tried to wake up again but couldn't, he groaned, "How long?"

"Mine was pretty quick" Henry shrugged

"Can you help?" Alex asked

"I can try to make the pain ease up, process wise is all up to you I guess" Henry said

"What are you waiting for?" Alex asked

Henry smiled, then his eye colour changed to red as he stared at Alex who couldn't seem to look away, he felt like he was in a trance, initially he felt a shiver throughout his body then everything inside him became warm. Henry blinked a few times and his normal eye colour returned

Alex looked down and remained silent. After a moment, Henry got up and put his hand on Alex's shoulder; instinctively Alex grabbed Henry by the throat. "Alex" Henry choked out whilst being surprised by the strength of the grip

Alex didn't let go. Henry's eye colour changed to red once more, "Ares!" Henry commanded

Immediately Alex let go and fell back to the couch. "What just happened?" Alex asked

Henry's eyes returned to normal. "You my friend, just became a God" Henry said whilst stretching his neck to either side

"Ares...as in" Alex trailed of

"The God of war, that's you" Henry laughed

Alex smiled his biggest smile, "By the way, where are we H, and when are you coming home?"

"Can't say, for both" Henry shrugged

Alex frowned

"You okay though?" Henry asked

Alex nodded

"And Anna?"

"She misses you but she's holding up"

"You should get back... Doubt you'd need me, you can apparate now" Henry smiled

"Still feeling light headed, would you mind just this time?"

Henry nodded, touched his shoulder and apparated

The gang had returned to the academy on Saturday morning. Primrose walked to the café alone and ordered something. One of the guys Orlando spoke to was there as well. "I see Orlando didn't take you" the guy said to her

"What...?" Primrose asked

"You're still here, meaning he didn't take you...I wanted to see if he would, but guess he said what he did for a reason..." the guy smiled and went outside

"So what are you going to do now?" Phillip asked Zac whilst walking in a passageway

"I have an idea but I need to talk to Clara, I told her to meet me later " Zac said

"Okay, let me know if you need anything"

"Will do" Zac smiled

"Where you headed anyway?" Phillip asked

"To see Chuck...but hey, did you get the text from Alex?"

"God of war, that's so rad!" Phillip laughed
