There I finally was, university of Arizona. The light breeze made my loose tank top flow. I just stood there deep in thought.
"Um, hey, D.... little help here?" My best friend Zoe, also my college roommate, struggled under the weight of some of the boxes we packed.
Once we had finally unloaded all of our boxes it was time to say our good-byes to our parents. After several minutes of "you'll be fine...you'll do great" speeches we hugged our parents and watched as the pulled out of the crowed parking lot.
"We should probably get checked-" I started but was interrupted as Zoe yelled "WE ARE FINALLY FREE AND OUT OF WYOMING!" I laughed because she was right.
Zoe and I grew up in Gillette a small town in Wyoming. We had been best friends since 6th grade. Since Gillette was a coal town sports was what everyone did. Zoe played soccer and I played basketball. When the university of Arizona asked both of us to come play for them we both quickly excepted.
"Come on!" I playfully grabbed Zoe's arm and brought her over with me to the registration/check in table.
"Name please..." A cheery blonde questioned.
"Rodriguez and Johnston" We replied.
"You guys are in the Posada San Pedro Hall." She handed us a description of the hall and told us were to go. Zoe and I grabbed all of our stuff and headed to our new home.
"DYLAN! DYLAN!" Zoe's voice was filled with excitement.
"What? What?"
"The Posada is a CO-ED Hall!!! We gonna meet some men!" Zoe started to break out in a dance.
"With those moves you aren't ever gonna get a guy!" I laughed.
