Kaden - Village X

I was tired but I couldn't fall asleep. My mind kept on thinking about this night. My eyes were closed and my body was relaxed but my brain kept on working.

Even though I was drained as hell, I was not one bit regretful about my decision to help Haven. It was hard for people like him to ask for help and to be honest, I don't think he would have asked for it if there was not an absolute emergency.

In a place like this, we needed people that we could trust.

Haven trusted me because I helped him without any personal interests involved and I trusted him because he trusted me with his own life. It was a complicated situation yet it helped us confirm our intentions.

Thinking back to other guys, I noticed who made me worry the most, their captain.

He made me uneasy.

His stare, his stance, his words.

He made himself out to be invincible even though I knew for a fact he could be vincible . He was a human like the rest of us but I still felt intimitated so I told myself that he was a just a human again and again.

A shiver traveled through my spine. It angered me to be this intimidated by someone.

He seemed indifferent to my existence so I decided to act like him. He was not someone important nor someone that had a lasting place in my life. His opinion about me and his actions towards me meant nothing.

I sighed. I thought how people always made me more tired than the days worth of actual work.

International Armed Forces - Kaden Base

Hunter listened to everything his team had say him about the events. Haven was pretty tired but he still wanted to be there and give them a summary of the events while eating the leftover food from the dinner.

Hunter was thinking about everything thorougly.

At this point, he was not surprised about bravery and strength that they've displayed. Even the first time they had encountered, she looked confident and powerful. He was just surprised that they were willing to take such a risk for Haven, someone they barely knew.

She fits this place well.

Hunter cursed himself for his thoughts.

She didn't look so different from the other women he encountered before, so he didn't know why he was having this kind of admiration towards her.

Hunter once again dismissed everyone so that they could get at least two hours of sleep. Other three man looked at him without moving a muscle, not knowing what to do.

"I'm dismissing you because I'm tired, not because I'm furious. We'll talk about everything in detail in the morning. Right now, go back to your beds and get some rest." He than turned to Haven. "You will not get out of your bed this morning. I'll give a notice to the Major, I'll tell him you got fever. He won't question us or suspect us anyways and the Colonel is not here so it won't be a problem."

He turned to Maroon without hesitation, not giving Haven's sulking face a second glance.

"Inform me immediately if he tries to get out of his bed." After seeing him nod, he got up to his feet and started to collect every item he needed and started to walk back to his bed.

He heard Brit's footsteps before he saw him beside him. "Do you need me to do anything else?"

Hunter knew this could possibly get him into trouble with his superiors and make him a laughing stock for his team but he wanted to make sure that everyone was safe and sound.
