SOHAM'S POV
"Come inside" I requested her.
"No thank you.Some other time. Take care. I need to go" She babbled.
"OK. You too" I said backing away from her vehicle.
I entered my apartment which is situated on seventh floor. All the rest of the floors are filled up with my dad's assistant and our security. Whoever saw me just smiled in my way. I don't know if they knew or just pretending that they don't know from where I am coming. I never talked with anyone so no one spoke with me. There's only one apartment per floor so we had no neighbour issues. As soon as I entered I saw my dad engulfing me lovingly. He didn't talk but had tears in his eyes.
"I am fine" I replied.
"Glad you are safe son" he said patting my back.
I looked around my hose finding it same as before. My dad always says he had fond memories in this apartment that's the reason he doesn't like to shift to some mansion. I liked this place, it's few streets away from beach but can be viewed from this height. I walked into my room and freshened up. I look funny with so much hair. I trimmed it trying to appear as clean as possible. Looking into the mirror I smiled how my life changed.
Love.
I never knew one single word has this much power and capacity to change lives. Mom always said, we never knew power of love until we experience it completely. I don't know if I have experienced it completely or not but now I know how much happiness it brought into my life.
"Son, you look handsome "my dad commented leaning on my door .
"Thanks dad, I am sure not more than you" I replied smiling at him. He smiled a bit and walked away.
Love.
It certainly changed our lives. Dad never spoke much but he's doing it now, I assume he's trying to convey his love for me. And me?? I am trying to mend few things for now.
"We need to accompany a meeting" dad said.
"With whom? " I asked him.
"I informed the media and somehow managed to keep them away from collecting information about you for the past few months. Only people who know are Aahana's dad, the jail incharge, and people in this building as they will be questioned frequently about you." he spoke.
"What is this meeting about? " I asked him
"It's like you are back from a long vacation and ready to take over business again. Just a small gathering with a few important people who are willing to help us " he replied.
"Help us in what way Dad? All they see is their benefit in the deal. " I spoke sipping my coffee.
" I know son" he said looking away.
We have publications houses where we print books for children mostly. Whatever profits we get it's used to distribute books among orphanages. My mom had a love for children, dad says they lost a child before me since then Mom spread love to the kids who are orphaned. I sighed and followed my dad to his office.
My first day after many months!
"Oh! Look at him! "
" Where did he go for vacation? "
"He lost so much of weight! "
"I think it's some new diet."
"Son, don't mind their words" dad said patting my back.
Soon we reached our conference room where many business men were sitting. They all stood up greeting my dad and me. I smiled and kept quiet occasionally nodding to their remarks about my life style.
"As you know, I arranged this meeting to let you all welcome my son back. He took a break from this stressful life, gained back his inner peace, and stood before us with energy surging through his body! "my dad spoke highly about my so-called vacation. Everyone applauded praising me for taking this break. There were around ten to fifteen important people who were willing to invest in some of our projects only because I am back. Strange! People won't believe until they see a person who can boost up their confidence level in believing something.

"Thank you one and all. It's a great pleasure for me to meet all of you here " my dad ended our gathering or meeting. As I sat down reading one of the file I heard someone talking with my dad.
"Yes her name is Aahana " my dad said which made my head jerk in his direction.
"That's sweet name " another person commented.
"Yes, it is. She is one of our close friend's daughter. You can talk with her dad about your marriage proposal for her " Dad suggested.
"Thank you so much."he said smiling widely.
"Take care Soham "the other person said nodding his head toward me.
"Is this alliance for your son?" I asked him not able to keep quiet about it.
"It's for my brothers son, we wanted some one who's not from our profession "he answered.
"Oh ok" i replied giving a tight smile.
"Is she your friend? "he questioned me.
"Yes they know each other school mates I guess. "my dad replied.
"That's so good. I am looking forward to meet her family" he said turning away
"I can accompany you" I offered hoping he won't decline. He looked back between me and Dad.
"To her home?"he asked me.
"Yes uncle.If things go good I can come with you for the talks" I said.
"Really? Please don't mind do you have any benefit if you accompany me? " he asked with nervousness lacing his tone.
"No sir, she's my friend too. You as well as her will feel comfortable if any one of us stay with you. I am just suggesting you. Don't feel obliged to take us with you" I said.
" I will let you know son. I may not need your help. Your dad has given me enough support I can't take more from you" he replied folding his hands. As soon as he left dad asked me why was I so interested .
"I don't know. Why were you giving information about her? " I questioned him.
" Because her dad asked me to " he shrugged leaving me alone with my thoughts. I wanted to check on him, what if he is back?! I immediately called my best man
" Welcome back baby! " I heard that same shrill voice making my ears go numb.
"Is he home? " I asked her.
"Oh! Shit! Soham!? I am really sorry I thought it's my husband's call. Didn't see name! " she apologised immediately.
"It's OK where is he?" I asked again.
"He is returning from Dubai today actually waiting for his call. So you are back? Not going to that horrid place again? " she asked me.
"No "I replied.
"OK then take care. " she disconnected my call shouting his name. I chuckled at her reaction, he sure must have come home way before time to surprise her. I wanted her to be safe. I should make sure that he's not back.
