Chapter 24

I'm in the car with Darren just talking about life, even tho we're always having bullshit discussions he's there for me when I need him and I'm thankful for that.

"Ion know what's goin' on with Melo but he's getting on my damn nerves just like his brother" I tell Darren.

"Why is that?" He asks.

"He's acting very weird lately, clingy and protective and Ion want to say it but.. He's acting like I'm his girl or sumn, and at first it was just the clingy stuff ya know. He's always been clingy you know that but it's way worse then before, and since a couple days the protective shit also accumulates with it. I got angry at him today and asked him what's wrong and he didn't reply" I explain the situation.

I trust Darren and I know he can be serious with this shit, don't get me wrong I love Lonzo and I tell him everything but when it comes to me and LaMelo that boy always let's it be. He says it is because he knows me and LaMelo can't stay away from each other for to long so he just doesn't feel the need to worry about it.

"Well you don't have to be smart to figure out what's going on, IF I'm understanding this right" Darren says.

I stare at him with a 'what the fuck' look on my face, he turns his head to get a quick glance of me before focussing at the road again.

"He likes you" Darren says like it's that obvious.

"He doesn't like me Dmo, him and Ashley just broke up and I'm pretty damn sure he still has feelings for her and is just trying to use me to fill that gap" I state.

"C'mon Cherray, HE broke up with Ashley. Not the other way around, why would he still like her. You and Melo have been best friends for a very long time, sometimes people fall in love with their best friend just because that person knows them the best and are willing to do everything for them. And besides that, Melo had a lil crush on you when you two were little so it's not that weird if he still likes you" Darren says causing me to gasp.

"WHAT? He liked me? Why did no one tell me this?!" I Shout making Darren's eyes go wide.

"You didn't know this? Oh god, you didn't get this from me" Darren quickly says stressing a little bit.

"Okay let's not talk about this anymore" I mumble.

We arrive at Lonzo's appartment and I try to distract myself very hard so I won't think about the conversation I just had with Darren.

"I'm homeee!" I yell as I walk in with Darren behind me.

I place my bag on the kitchen island and turn my attention to the living room where Lonzo is on the phone. I grab a water bottle out of the fridge before walking over to the living room and plopping down on the couch, Denise walks out of Lonzo's bedroom and walks over to me to give me a hug.

"How was school?" She asks.

"I got detention basically for saying I had to pee, and amber's ass threw a basketball at my head on 'accident' but other than that it was a regular day" I respond as she takes a seat next to me.

"You kidding me? Are those girls still mad at you?" Denise aks annoyed while Lonzo moves to the Kitchen.

"Yes they are. I wasn't having it tho, I almost smacked her head against the bleachers but O stopped me just in time" I say making Denise laugh.

"She's such a pathetic little girl" Denise shakes her head.

"Yo there is a problem in China" Lonzo says as he walks over to us and sits down on the other side of me.
