"hey, we need to talk." chloe says over the phone. she made us leave the group call so that we could talk. as soon as I heard those five words my heart dropped and my mind went to the worst possible solution. oh fuck. welp I guess she's breaking up with me-
"yeah, course, what's up?"
"I'm really torn and aksel has been no help so I thought I'd come to you. my dad has given me an ultimatum of staying in america and finding a college right away, or moving with him and my mom to estonia. yeah, I know, estonia. and I totally have no clue what the move is."
"estonia?" I say. I feel the weight of the over thinking lift from my chest and enters a new concept; estonia. what the fuck. "why estonia?"
"business shit! estonian video games! buying skype! god knows what! and its either pack my shit and get into college fast or move to europe-"
"right when I move to america."
I hear her sigh. "its not my choice. both options are rushed and stressful and I was planning on taking a gap year and to be honest I am so freaked out. the only good thing to come out of moving would be aksel and the only good thing about staying would be you."
"hey, don't stress too much, okay? we should weigh out the options." I say, walking through my kitchen to grab some food. "where would you go to school in estonia."
"I'd take a gap year to figure shit out."
"where would you apply last minute here?"
"probably a community college. somewhere in new york for now." she falls silent for a second. "I hate thinking about my future. like, a lot. thinking that far into my future gives me hives."
"honestly, same here. youtube isn't a reliable career path for everyone."
"let's stop talking about career paths." she said, dropping the subject. "its heavy. I just need to get my ass in gear and make a decision."
this is why long distance hurts. I just want to reassure her in person because there's only so much I can do online. "okay. I love you chloe. please don't make your choice based on me or aksel. do what's best for you."
"love you too." she hung up
