~Thorin's POV (Well this is new)~
I shook my head, and turned slightly, just in time to see Bilbo fall forwards.
"Bilbo!" I caught him just before he hit the ground, and he hissed in pain as I turned him on his back. There, prodding out from the side of torso, was a black arrow. Most of the company had noticed what had happened, and was now staring in shock.
"Fili! Water! Kili! Knife!" I barked at them, shaking them out of the stupidor. I pulled off Bilbo's coat, which left him in a brown shirt that was slowly being turned red. I looked up again, and my Ingadânê were there, the water and knife in hand. I took the knife and cut off the fabric around the arrow, leaving the rest of his shirt on. He coughed, and I could see flecks of red in the air.
I looked down at Bilbo. His face was contorted in pain, a trickle of blood was leaking from his mouth and down to his chin, his brows were furrowed, and his eyes were staring pleadingly into mine. I put a hand on his, as they were clutching his side, preventing me from taking the arrow out.
"I'm going to have to break the shaft, but you have to move your hands, alright?" I said. He nodded, slowly removing his hands.
I grabbed the arrow, taking a breath.
"On three, yeah?"
"Y-Yeah."
"One... Two... Three!" The arrow broke in half, an Bilbo let out a shout, tears gathering in the corners of his eyes, but not falling.
I took the water from FIli and started cleaning the blood away.
"Thorin, we must take Bilbo to the Elves." Gandalf stated. I turned to glare mistrustful at the Wizard.
"I will do no su-" I was cut off by someone thudding me in the chest. I looked down, and Bilbo was grimacing at me.
"I s-swear, Thorin Oakenshield, i-if you so much s-say what I think y-your about to say, d-don't. I'm t-the one bleeding here, a-and I say take me to t-the damn Elves!" he wheezed out, coughing a little. I opened my mouth to say something, but stopped.
"Fine. Kili, help our burglar up." I mumbled, a slight blush appearing on my face from the fact I listened to a small Hobbit. Me. A king. Kili helped Bilbo up, letting the smaller male lean on him for support. I got to my feet as well, and I stared at the blood on my hands, before shaking my head.
"Let's go." I followed behind Gandalf as we made our way down a winding path. I glanced behind every few seconds, making sure Kili and Bilbo were alright.
~Third Person Company POV~
The Hobbit had paled, and a good amount of blood was covering his hand, dripping onto the ground. They came to a stop on a circular platform, and Bilbo was staring around in wonder, despite his current situation. A voice shook them from their thoughts, and turned to see an Elf in red and purple garb walking down the stairs.
"Mithrandir." Gandalf turned, smiling slightly.
"Ah. Lindir." The said Elf gave a respective nod. Thorin learned to Dwalin, and whispered, "Stay sharp." Lindir said something in Sindarin , but Gandalf replied in Westron.
"I must speak with Lord Elrond."
"My Lord Elrond is not here."
"Not here?" Gandalf asked, glancing up at the Elvish building that laid out before him. "Where is he?" A horn sounded, turning everyone's attention in the direction of which they had come from. A good dozen horses were coming down the path, which stirred panic in the Dwarves.Thorin shouted something in Khuzdul, and then, "Close ranks!" Kili and Bilbo were shoved into the middle of the circle as the horses and their riders trotted around them. Gandalf made a face, not really sure what to make of the situation. One of the Elves on horseback spoke out.
"Gandalf."
"Lord Elrond." The two conversed in Sindarin, and the company watched as Elrond hopped off his horse, walking towards the Wizard. The pair shared a brief hug."Strange for Orcs to come so close to our borders," Elrond said in Westron, holding up an Orcish blade, "Something or someone has drawn them near." He handed the blade off to Lindir, and Gandalf gave a slight chuckle."Ah. That may have been us." Thorin stepped forwards, and Elrond caught sight of it, and stepped forwards as well.
"Welcome, Thorin, son of Thrain."
"I do not believe we have met."
"You have your grandfather's bearing. I knew Thror when he ruled Under the Mountain."
"Indeed? He made no mention of you." Elrond spoke in Sindarin, not once breaking eye contact with Thorin.
"What is he saying? Does he offer us insult?" Gloin growled, pointing his axe at the Elf. That stirred the other Dwarves, besides Kili, into a slight rage.
"No, Master Gloin, he's offering you food." The Dwarves started muttering to each other.
"Well, in that case, lead on." The Elf held up a hand, stopping the moving.
"But before food, I do believe there is something of bigger manner we must deal with first," he said, holding up the bloody piece of cloth Thorin had cut off of Bilbo's shirt, "One of you is injured." Kili helped their Hobbit hobble forwards, and Elrond paled a little.
"Come," he said, motioning for them to follow.
~Mini Time Skip~
The Elves led the company to a room, and laid Bilbo down on a bed, calling in some healers.
"The rest of you may follow me, our healers will take care of your injured friend." Thorin didn't move, standing by the side of the bed, the others following suit.
"We will not leave our companion alone." he grumbled, glowering at the Elf slightly. A voice spoke up from behind the wall of Dwarves.
"D-Damnit, Thorin. Swallow y-your pride for o-once. Do not s-starve on my account. I'll b-be fine." Bilbo coughed, sitting up slightly.
"But-"
"No buts, m-mister." The Hobbit waggled a finger at the King, "Go! S-Shoo! Or I'll w-whoop your k-kingly ass back to t-he Blue Mountains!" Thorin caved, motioning for the others to leave, following behind after them with a mutter of, "Lagb'uzurkai Zantulbasn'ulusdai," and Bilbo chuckled.
"And save some for me!"
There was only two lines of Khuzdul in this; so here's the translation; Lagb'uzurkai Zantulbasn'ulusdai means; sharp tongued, preposterous hobbit and Ingadânê means; My Near Sons. Please comment and vote if you like the story!
