~Chapter 24~

"Ashley, can I talk to you for a second?" Sally approached his group of friends when lunchtime finally arrived. Larry frowned and tilted his head sweetly.
Sally had made sure his hoodie was covering his neck before he left the bathroom.
"Umm, sure but are you sure you want to talk to me?" She glanced at Larry and then back at Sally.
Sally nodded, "I'm positive."
Ashley nodded and followed him to a secluded area.
"Do you have your make-up with you?" Sally asked awkwardly and stared at his feet.
"Yeah, do you need it?" her expression softened and she smiled weakly.
"D-do you think you can cover these?" Sally pulled his hoodie down to reveal the small bruises on his neck, he gagged at the thought of them.
"I can. But what happened, I mean... who?" She was looked at them with a shocked expression.
"I don't want to talk about it, Ashley."
"It wasn't, Larry was it?" She smiled.
Sally shook his head frantically, "look, I didn't want this to happen, I..." Sally paused and closed his eyes.
Ashley tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and shuffled through her purple make-up bag. She pulled out a sponge and some concealer.
"Look Sal, I don't mind if you don't tell me, I get that it's personal stuff, but if it was assault then you need to speak to someone. You'll thank yourself for it," Ashley gently rubbed some concealer on his neck, the shade matched his skin colour almost perfectly.
"Thanks, Ashley. If I tell you what happened, will you swear not to tell anyone?"
Ashley stopped blending the concealer and stared him dead in the eye, her green eyes glistening in the sunlight, "I promise," she whispered.
"Travis, he dragged me into the bathroom and trapped me in there, I'm not going to go into detail but he did it. And I didn't want him to..." Sally felt his eyes tearing up again, but fought back the tears.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Sally," she frowned and put her make-up away, holding up a mirror to his neck to show Sally, the marks were completely gone, it was like it had never happened.
"T-thanks Ashley," Sally began to walk away, but Ashley grabbed his wrist and pulled him into a hug.
Sally rested his head on her shoulder and they both sighed.
They both headed back to their friends together, Sally checking around for Travis.
Larry's eyes lit up at the sight of Sally coming towards him. The view of Larry getting so happy helped Sally cheer up a little, and he couldn't help but let out a little chuckle.
"Hey, Larry," Sally stood in front of him and looked up at him.
"Hi Sally," Larry looked at him and smiled, "you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
Ashley was talking to Todd beside them and was laughing happily, Sally appreciated how she could act so normal after what he had just told her.
"Wanna ditch?" Larry yawned.
"I was hoping you'd say that," Sally rolled his eyes and followed him towards an exit.
