Chapter 39 - The Physical Creation of Terror

Zayne engulfed his fist in a veil of fire and clashed with Thunder Fang's lightning made paw, which sent a shockwave of fire and lightning across the entire room. Arachnid tried to get on the ceiling to drop on Hybrid, but his enemy was too fast as Hybrid jumped into the air at the same time and sent a massive fist into his gut. Hybrid landed on the ground, staring right at Stone, who gave Hybrid a similar glare. The two charged forward and clashed hand to hand, both of them using brute strength to try and over power the other. In the background fire and lightning clashed back and forth, the energy dispersing everywhere as they socked each other across jaws, guts, and swept each other to the floor as often as possible. Every time Thunder Fang would get a good strike Zayne would return that same attack with a much stronger one than before. It was never ending.

Arachnid kicked Hybrid across the jaw to upset the balance of strength, giving Stone the advantage. The golem quickly picked up Hybrid and flipped him over, then drove him into the ground like a rock, digging a massive hole with Hybrid's body before letting go and leaving the seemingly lifeless body in the pit. As Stone and Arachnid began moving in to help Thunder Fang a figure emerged from the crater and jumped into the air, grabbing Arachnid and using him as a bat to crack not only Arachnid's bones, but send Stone flying across the room. Hybrid roared in success as he threw Arachnid across the room like a rag doll, the body slumping to the floor in a heap of broken bones. Zayne wrestled with Thunder Fang and finally got on his back, wrapping both arms around the electrical wolf and drilling him into the ground. The beast roared and sent a discharge of energy everywhere, shocking Zayne for only a few moments before the lightning body vanished and was replaced by Thunder Fang's physical form. Stone got up from the wreckage he'd been forced into and saw Zayne and Hybrid standing side by side staring at him with fixed eyes. He quickly rose both hands in defeat and slumped outside where dozens of MRaCD units awaited them.

As the dust settled across the room MRaCD medics began moving in to escort both MRaCD injured and the two brutally defeated Mythic out of the storehouse. Ver and Keith both received on sight treatment, although Ver would need to be lifted off to the base once more for her injuries. Zayne and Eli stood among the wreckage of the former building and stared at their work. Messy, destructive, and chaotic, but nevertheless the results were in. All three Mythic captured, most of the MRaCD men recovered, a few still scattered outside of the facility, and the villains were defeated. Civilians gathered around the place in awe as they saw the destructive power before them and the government. A few even saw Eli, wondering who he was as they recorded the events taking place. No one knew who he was, but he was here and that meant that he must be friends of Zayne, the Guardian, meaning he was probably a big deal to come. People were freaking out.

After Keith was finished being examined he jumped up and walked over to Zayne and Eli, who were exchanging happy moments and jokes as if nothing had even happened around them. Keith reached the two and gave them disbelieving glances.

"How'd you do it?" He asked.

"What? Get here so fast or take on three Mythic simultaneously and totally obliterate them and their dreams?" Zayne asked with joy.

"Both," Keith replied ghastly.

"Well, the arrival thing was quick and easy with teleportation. That wasn't any issue. As for Eli using Hybrid, well that was actually the Midnight Horror with Eli finally in the co-pilot seat instead of the passenger," Zayne explained.

"I've finally started to reach Midnight Horror and find ways to control him. He's a monster within me with his own personality and thoughts, most of them revolving around murder and food. I've been finding ways to overpower that and focus his attention on targets to work more progressive than recessive," Eli explained.
