Chapter 2
There is one thing I absolutely despise about school. Even more than my History class, and that's saying something. Not to mention, it is unavoidable.
And it would be Tony and his bunch of goons. Well, he's actually called Anthony but the jerk likes to go by Tony, which is jerk spelt backwards…
Calm down Eva, I thought darkly. Just one month left and I'll be rid of the idiot now holding the empty cup of water that he poured all over me. I was five seconds away from slapping the smirk right off his face.
"Oops?" he said like an idiot, as his bunch of loser friends chortled behind him.
"Anthony, get lost" Cora said, smiling too sweetly at him. Tony glowered at her. He really didn’t like to be called Anthony.
"Cora, let's go" I said, pulling Cora's arm and starting for the door of the lunch room. "Oh and Tony? Try to get a life, okay?"
I didn’t give him a chance to reply as I hurried out of the hall, with Cora on my heels. I did, however, throw him a smirk over my shoulder. I could practically see the venom pouring out of his eyes. No body usually told him off, and I could see I've humiliated him by the way his friends were giving him the 'dude she stood you up' look.
Note to self, avoid Tony in the near future…
Honestly, there isn't really much to say about Tony. He's your typical high school idiot slash player. I don't even understand why he's so popular, well maybe being captain of the football team explains it, but still it doesn't explain why he has half the school girls after him.
My history with Tony goes back about a year ago. He was a complete utter jerk to me and my friends, even ruining our science fair project. Long story short, I got him suspended for three days and I think he got into serious trouble with his parents. So now we hate each others guts because he won't stop giving me hell and well, being the stubborn girl that I am, I won't back down either.
Oh, and apparently he thinks it's funny if he dumped a glass of water on my head. The douche, I thought bitterly.
As soon as Cora and I set foot outside the lunchroom, we burst out laughing. We kept up our cackling all the way as we scampered across the corridor, heading for the bathroom.
"His face…oh my God" Cora said between fits of laughter.
"I know. It looked like I just hit him in the face with a pan" I said, smiling evilly to myself as I pushed open the bathroom door.
People need to tell him off more often, he needs to stop feeling like the "Bit Almighty Tony Stevens"…
Inside the bathroom, I stood in front of the mirror, scrutinizing my reflection as I ran a hand through my hair. Luckily, the water hadn't done much damage to my hair or clothes.
"Exams next week" Cora said glumly, previous amusement forgotten.
"Yeah, but at least you've got that trip to look forward to" I said, nudging her in the side. I watched as her eyes lit up and a big grin made itself known on her face as I mentioned the trip.
"Just two weeks…" she said dreamily.
I rolled my eyes before raising my wrist to look at my watch. It was time to head back to class now. How exciting.
"Come on Cora"
She let out a groan as I pulled her out of the bathroom with me. It wasn't a few minutes before she spoke again.
"Hey, we should go shopping this Friday?"
"Maybe –" I came short as I was forced to stop in the middle of the corridor. I didn't have to look up to know who had brought me to a halt. Of course, Tony.
