Chapter 9
Five minutes after I woke up, the door knocked once before opening revealing Gavin with a tray of food.
I yawned and stretched before kicking the covers off of me and swinging my legs off the bed, but I didn't jump down just yet. Too lazy to get up, I watched as Gavin angrily made his way up to my bed.
"Food," he said, dropping the tray next to me. I raised an eye-brow at him. What's up with the mood swings?
"I can see what it is..."
"Shut up and eat."
I stared at the food for a moment before my eyes turned to the person standing impariently in front of me.
"I don't like the food," I said, crossing my arms like the stubborn girl that I am.
"Fine, starve to death then," he snapped, reaching forward for the tray.
"N-no! Wait..." I bit my lip, looking away. I would be lying if I said I wasn't hungry. I guess I'll just have to stop whining and eat it. After all, I needed to be strong enough to plan my escape.
Gavin let out a frustrated noise before leaving the tray again. Then he just stood there, and I sat there, and the tray of food sat there too.
"Um, are you going to just stand there...?" I trailed off, looking at the food again.
"Do you have a problem with that?" he snapped.
"Geez, what's up your ass..." I muttered.
"I heard that," he said, narrowing his eyes at me.
"Whoops?" I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes and picking at the food.
I wasn't expecting much, but soup, and not even warm, really? I started chewing on the piece of bread instead, trying to just get my stomach full enough to keep my body moving.
After a while of me silently eating and Gavin just standing there, I felt a bit awkward and decided to make small talk. Let's just say it didn't go too well...
"So do you, um, want to eat anything?" I asked awkwardly, pushing the tray to him.
"No."
"You could at least say thank you..."
"No."
"Stop saying 'no' !"
"No."
I let out a frustrated scream as I jumped off the bed and went to the bathroom. I slammed the door shut, making sure the noise rang through the room.
I took my time freshening up and rinsing my mouth and when I came out, Gavin was sitting on the floor, frowning at a crack in the wall and looking like he was deep in thought. Aw, he looked cute.
Whoa there, I shall not think of Gavin as cute. Never. This is all an act, remember?
I cleared my throat, "So, what am I going to do today?"
Gavin snapped out of whatever he was focusing on and jerked his head to look at me, like I had caught him by surprise. No, Eva, don't think of him as cute...
"Nothing."
"Gavin?"
He didn't say anything for a while and just looked at me, a faint frown on his perfect face, so I sighed before continuing, "Why are you here?"
"Why shouldn't I be?"
"Gavin, I'm serious." God, his answers were getting me no where.
"So am I."
