Chapter 5

Tony certainly did get us good this time. It was a pain trying to dry all our clothes inside a closed train, not to mention it was getting dark so the sun’s heat wasn’t even on our side. We spent the next fifteen minutes trying to save our clothes and finding any way we could dry them off. In the end, we just gave up because there was nothing we could do but wait; and when we finally accepted that, the train had started moving again.

“I swear that sneaky bastard won’t know what hit him when I’m done with him,” Cora threatened. The girl really valued her clothes and any hit to them was a direct hit to her.

“Don’t worry, Cora. I’ve got it all planned,” I said, racking my brain for a revenge plan that could actually work. “Hey, Lydia? When does this train stop again?”

Lydia glanced at her watch before looking up at me, flicking her chestnut-brown behind her shoulders, “Not so sure, but we’re probably just going to make just one stop for the night. We’re going to keep going till tomorrow morning then.”

I rolled my lips into my mouth; are we seriously going to spend a whole night moving in this thing? That’s not even possible...

“Okay...” I started, but a wave of uneasiness washed over me as I thought what could happen during the night. How hard could it be for a train to go off tracks when it’s path is wrapped in a black curtain of darkness? Not very hard...

“Anyway,” Lydia said, since I wasn’t saying anything, “let’s do something. Seriously, we’re not going to just sit here and just... mope.”

I laughed at how she said "mope", like the word offended her. Cora was still sulking however, so I nudged her in the side playfully.

"Aw, Cora come on cheer up," I said, which really didn't help because she just stared at me glumly.

"Oh, I know!" Lydia cried suddenly, jumping to her feet and sliding the door open and grabbing us along with her.

"Hey!"

"Why the rush?" I asked as she stopped in front of our door.

"EVERYONE" She yelled and I looked her like she was mad.

"What the hell, Lydia?" Cora asked.

Lydia just ignored us, rolling her eyes. And when only a few people showed up, giving us weird stares, Lydia took in a deep breath and shouted, "COME ON OUT NOW!"

Now that got everyone's attention. Everyone rushed outside, some of them looked worried. I couldn't blame them if they thought the train was on fire... Some of them looked like they just woken up. I smiled at them apologetically and Cora gave them a small wave.

"Would you like to explain why you disturbed the whole train..." I muttered to Lydia, keeping the smile on my face.

"Come on everyone! We can't just stay locked up inside our compartments, let's play a game together?" she said excitedly.

I watched as everyone's expressions changed into excitement as Lydia's words starting sinking in.

"I'm in!" Chris shouted from the bunch of people. Lydia beamed at him.

"Me too"

"Count me in"

Everyone else began joining in after that, and soon everyone agreed on playing, but the question that no one had asked yet....what will we be playing?

"Let's start with Truth or Dare?" Lydia said mischievously, and everyone else murmured in agreement. "Great! Now in a circle everyone," she said clapping her hands once.
