(Nine hours later)

Luckily, by the time the party was about to begin, we had the decorations up, the cake made and frosted, the party favors out, and all our friends from McKinely over at Sam and Mercedes' apartment. All we had to do now was wait for Rachel.

"Hey! Hey Everybody quiet down! This is how everything has to go here!" I called to everyone.

"This is how everything has to go here."

"Yeah the lights are on the living room,"

"The lights are on the living room."

"She'll be here at seven sharp, it's five to now."

"She'll be here at seven sharp, it's five to now..." I turned around and shot a scowl towards Tina. "Then what?" she asked me.

"How 'bout oyu shut up and I'll tell ya?" I suggested.

"Good idea." she said.

"Good idea. Great. Anyway, when she comes in, we all jump up and we all saw Happy Birthday." I said.

"No, not Happy Birthday, Suprise!" Blaine corrected.

"Same thing the last time I checked." I replied.

"Alright listen, I'll stand by the door, and when she comes in, I'll give the signal, and we all shout surprise. Yeah?" Kurt asked us. We all agreed, and then everbody started shushing each other. Then...

"Reese!" Rachel burst through back door. She blew everybody as they started singing surprise, but all Rachel did was throw her arms around me.

"What the-Rachel! I thought I told you to come in through the front door. That was so everybody could sing like this and we can eat cake and open presents and all that. I gave specific instructions and...wait a minute. You're not crying happy. You're crying sad. What's wrong?" I asked her. Rachel didn't say anything, she just continued to cry while everybody sang happy birthday, not aware that she was upset. But about what?

-

I pulled her into the bedroom several minutes later, she was in tear buckets and sobbing uncontrollably. I could barely understand anything she was trying to say.

"Alright Rachel, come on, come inside. Calm down. Easy, easy. What happened?" I asked her.

"Chain-I-I-he-I-" what?

"Kay stop. Slow down. Kay? What happened?" I asked again.

"A man!"

"A man?"

"He-he-he-he said he was looking for a man-he-he was the man he was looking for?" hah?

"Okay, okay. I don't understand a word saying. Come sit down here." I sat with her on the bed, not caring if Sam's shirts and boxers were laid around on it. "Now calm down, take it easy. A man came over to the house, and he said he was the man...that he was looking for? What's that?" I asked.

"He had a gun!"

"He had a gun?!"

"And he said he was gonna...kill me!"

"Did he?!"

"No!" oh geez. Really?

"What're you telling me a thing like that for? Calm down, pace yourself. But I mean, what did he do?" I asked.

"He-he...he..." Rachel just stopped, she started shaking uncontrollably. "He..."

"Well what happened Rachel? What did he want?" I asked. She replied in the tiniest of tiny voices that I've ever heard come out of her mouth.
