New fun fact

<insert> = narrator talking to you

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right then and there, as you lay in your make-shift bed, you promise yourself that you will stay alive until Tyler Joseph lets you help him. It would keep you going for a while.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You keep thinking about the night before. About what was said. About what Tyler had become. But when he woke you up early this morning, he acted as nothing had happened. You wanted to say something but decided it would be best if you did later, for Tyler was begging you to try his "omelet" that he made from one of the vulture's eggs.

"It can't be thAt bad! Just try it!" Tyler says while shoving a plate of burnt eggs at your face. "Plus, you have to eat something. We have a long day!"

Finally, you give in and take the plate.

"I can't go through the day if I have food poisoning," you say under your breath.

"OH MY GAH! IT'S NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU FOOD POISONING IT'S EGGS JUST EAT IT!" Tyler screams whilst laughing.

You pick up a tablespoon sized piece of egg and give Tyler a look. You hesitantly put it in your mouth and chew. It tastes exactly like what you thought it would. Like something had died, come back to life, and died again, and then decided to rot. Then a vulture came and ate it. After a while, that vulture laid an egg. That egg happened to be the egg you were eating.

"How is it?" Tyler asks, watching you closely. You try to nod your head, pretending it was good, but at that exact moment, your gag reflexes made you spit out what you were chewing. As the burnt, rotten egg was spewed across the ground, Tyler dumped his eggs on the ground.

"Well, maybe the vultures are hungry," Tyler says smirking at you.

"TYLER OH MY GOD!" You scream while laughing.

"It's only cannibalism," he says while picking the rest of the plates up and shoving them in his bag. "We gotta go. The Bishops might have made headway. We don't wanna get caught, now do we?" He asks while smiling at you.

His smile comforts you. He knows what can happen and what can go wrong, and he jokes about it. We might as well joke while we can.

We leave the makeshift beds for someone else to use if they find them.

After we clean up the area a bit, we grab our bags and head on our way. You're not sure where we are going, and Tyler won't tell you.

You grab two water bottles from your bag and hand one to Tyler.

"Oh. Thanks," he says as he takes the bottle. He twists the cap and puts it up against his mouth. Within a matter of seconds, half of the bottle is gone. It's a dry-hot day today. Some days it's just hot. Or it's muggy-hot. Today, it was dry-hot. The sun seemed to be pulling water straight from your stomach.

You drink about half the bottle as well. The sun is scorching today, but at night it's freezing. You and Tyler walk in silence for a long time. For hours you guys walk. Finally, Tyler breaks the silence.

"So you said you're a listener more than a talker? What do you listen to, since DEMA is all about silence?"

"Well, my friend Stella and I used to have a hideout where we could go and talk. And, um, I used to make this noise with my throat. My mom called it humming and told me never to do it. So, of course, I did it anyway," you smile at the thought of what you were going to say next. "And Stella and I used to sing? My mom said it was singing, but I'm not sure and-"

"Wait you sing?" Tyler stops dead in his tracks and looks at you intensely.

"Um, yeah, sometimes I guess," you say wiping your hair behind your ear and looking at the ground. You weren't a big fan of eye contact. It made you nervous.

"Hmm. Neat," Tyler says looking at you again, and then starts walking. He seemed happy that you sing.

<Keep this in mind>

"I'm surprised you had a hideout," he says smirking.

"Why's that?"

"Cus you seem all quite and goody goody," he says smirking again.

This makes you laugh. And for some reason, you can't stop laughing.

"Well, I didn't think it was that funny," says Tyler while he starts laughing as well.

"It's not funny," you say between breaths. "It's just the fact that you said 'goody goody'."

Tyler laughs at this too.

"What other words could I have used though?"

"I don't know, maybe, 'You seem like a good kid who doesn't start trouble'," you say still laughing.

"Well, that would have been reasonable," he says laughing again.

Suddenly, you see flags. Yellow flags. They are peaking through over the hill you are walking on. As you and Tyler get closer, you see tents. And fires. And. People. Tyler looks over at you and sees your confusion and anxiety starting.

"These are all people who have escaped from DEMA. They have come here and grouped together. Most of them are friendly so you'll be okay." He pats your shoulder and walks a little faster towards this group of people.

"Tyler's back!" You hear someone scream. Then around the camp, you can hear people receive the news.

"TYLER!", "Tyler??", "Tylers back?", and "YAY TYLER" all echo in your ear. All this love for Tyler. Tyler is really special.

You see people running from out of tents and running over the hill towards both of you. Well, towards Tyler. They want Tyler because they love Tyler. They know Tyler. They don't know you. They don't care about you. No one does. No on-

"Hey (Y/N), come here," Tyler says waving you over. Some people have begun to notice you. They give you questioning looks, but they don't seem worried. "Everyone, this is (Y/N). I met her in DEMA." The second Tyler sees him, he flinches.

"You went back?" He rolled through the crowd, and people moved out of his way. He seemed to have some power here too. He had the same bright brown eyes, but they were kind of squinty. He seemed mad, so you stepped back as he came up to you and Tyler.

"You went BACK into DEMA after what happened?" he screamed at Tyler.

"Josh I had to! And look, it all turned out fine. I even helped someone," Tyler points to you. Josh quickly glanced at you, but he didn't seem to care. "I didn't get hurt or touched or anything. I'm fine like I always am."

"Like you always are huh? What about last time?? Whatever. Fine. Go back when you want, but we can't always come to help you," Josh says as he storms off. People, again, move out of his way, like he is a god or something.

"That's Josh. He's, um...He's not always like that. He's just upset right now. But he's a really nice guy once you get to know him," Tyler says flashing you another one of his big smiles.

"What does he mean last time?" You ask a little skeptical. You don't want people thinking he dangered himself for you.

"It's nothing. Nothing to worry about," he wraps his arm around your shoulder and pulls you through the crowd of people. "You don't need to worry about that. You need to talk to some people and make friends. Maybe get yourself out of those DEMA clothes."

Your thoughts trail off as he continues talking. What did Josh mean by last time?
