I Bet They're Soft

"DAMNIT, WHY IS THERE ALWAYS FEATHERS EVERYWHERE!? IS THERE A BIRD IN HERE THAT I DON'T KNOW OF!?" Sam has been annoyed about all the feathers that they have been finding in the bunker lately, and right now, he just found another in a lore book.

"Jeez Sammy, calm down. We'll find the solution to this weird ass problem soon." Dean chuckled in the beginning of his sentence. Charlie giggled and held out one of the feathers.

"It's weird though, I'm pretty sure there isn't any bird around this area with such long black primary coverts..." She said, loosing the giggle in her tone the more she talked. Charlie studied the feather, Sam and Dean looked at her with the similar raised brow that they both have. Charlie didn't need to glance at them to notice the look that the brothers were giving her.

"...What? I used to study birds. They're fascinating once you get to know them." She winked at the siblings, and they both just rolled their eyes and continued reading the lore on feathers, and the types of things that would relate to that. A long five minutes of silence passed, and Charlie spoke up.

"...Hey, have you guys seen Cas? I haven't seen that blue eyed, trench coat wearing, nervous wreck in a while."

"Come to think of it, no..? He hasn't showed up ever sense the morning." Sam responded, looking up from his book and furrowing his brow.

"Does he use his room?" Charlie asked.

"Rarely, I think. I don't pay attention when he goes in there, really. But he might be there if he didn't do that wooshy-disappear thing and didn't tell us. Which he most likely did." Dean scoffed, realizing that his statement wasn't wrong.

"I was just thinking that Cas might know what's going on, or something. Cause' he is a celestial being." Charlie started examining the feather again. Dean nodded.

"Sometimes I forget that Cas is a 'very powerful celestial being'. I keep realizing that Cas could snap all of our necks if he wanted to." Sam huffed, burying himself in the book again.

"But he wouldn't."
Dean and Charlie both said at the same time, and not even noticing that they did. Dean stood up from his chair and closed the book that he was reading.

"I'll go look for him. Or see if he's even here." He said, sorta regretting it. Dean could practically hear the nods coming from Charlie and Sam as he walked away from the main room and into the hallway. As the hunter walked, he started getting a lot of butterflies and not even knowing why. Yeah, Castiel was his friend, but Dean has been getting mixed feeling about him. Once, he caught himself staring into Castiel's eyes. He just looked straight into them, unaware of their surroundings. Of course, Castiel snapped him out of it by doing that adorable confused puppy face, and said;
"Dean?"
And he couldn't get rid of those damn blue eyes, the jet black bedroom hair, the tan trench coat that seems to never get dirty, the chapped blunt lips, the fucking adorable confused expression. Dean almost bumped into Castiel while thinking of this.

"Whoa! Cas!" Dean huffed. "You scared me you idiot- Jesus Christ..."

"My apologies." Castiel replied in that deep, sober, growly voice.

"Yeah, it's fine... Uh... Cas, are you okay?" Dean asked, getting straight to the point and not going through any sugar coating or small talk.

"What do you mean? I'm fine." The angel muttered. Dean always knew that Castiel wasn't a good liar, but this time he almost slipped in Dean's hands. Almost, but didn't.
