Mason

"Holy fuck, Mason." He gasped, stepping forward with his hands out to help me.

Painfully, I pushed myself off the doorframe, wincing as my body protested each and every movement I was making. Nevertheless, I waved my hand around, dismissing his that were about to grab ahold of me. "I'm fine," I assured though we both knew that was a lie.

"Mason?" Parker appeared out from behind Beau, the same stunned look on his face that Beau's face held.

"Hey Parker," I attempted a smile, though my face quickly turned into a look of pain, than one of happiness. I managed to make it over the door jam and into the house without tripping. I paused, resting my hand on the entryway table, breathing heavily, my throat ached with each harsh intake of breath I was taking. "You guys can stop staring at me like I've gone and smashed your Xbox." I joked and continued walking towards the stairs; whilst the two boys stayed unmoving, their mouths slightly agape. I was quite proud of myself for making it up the first two steps without a problem, though of course, that didn't last very long. As soon as I lifted my leg up to take the next step, my foot caught on the step causing me to instantly fly forward. I put my hands out to catch myself, okay, I attempted but it the pain I was feeling made me stop the action almost immediately. However, I never made contact with the steps a set of hands grasped my waist.

"Shit Mase, are you okay?" Parker urged, gently helping to stand back upright.

"Yeah, sorry. I'm okay. Thank you though." I turned slightly to face him.

"Mason, what the hell happened?"

I cleared my throat, feeling uncomfortable with the way they were both looking at me, eyes full of worry. "I tripped." I offered.

"Mason, seriously. Who did this to you?" Beau stepped forward.

I sighed. "Can we not talk about this right now? I feel disgusting and exhausted and I just want to go shower and then go to sleep."

They both looked hesitant, glancing at one another and then looking back to me. Parker nodded and wrapped his arm around my waist. "Yeah, just let me help you the stairs. Okay?"

"You really don't have to do that."

"Please, just let me help."

I swallowed the lump that had suddenly begun forming in my throat. Tears immediately as I did everything in my power to keep them from actually falling. I didn't like crying in front of anyone and I wasn't about to start now. I nodded tightly, allowing him to help me up the steps. We were part way up when the front door flew open, though we continued up the steps. I prayed that whoever it was, didn't acknowledge Sutton and I, though I doubt they'd be able to see me behind Parker's large frame but he was walking up the stairs at an abnormally slow pace, obviously due to me but to anyone who wasn't able to see me, it'd just look weird.
